<text>Well, it's free and it's the most popular. What more can you say? I'm actually waiting for the next best thing to come along. The interface is too clunky and retarded for my liking.</text>

<description>Facebook is a social networking website launched on February 4, 2004. The free-access website is privately owned and operated by Facebook, Inc. Users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region to connect and interact with other people. People can also add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profile to notify friends about themselves. The website's name refers to the paper facebooks depicting members of a campus community that some US colleges and preparatory schools give to incoming students, faculty, and staff as a way to get to know other people on campus. </description>

<text>This is a great browser-based interface for using Twitter and Facebook. I use it more for Twitter than Facebook, so all I can say about the Facebook aspect of it is that it matches up well with the actual look and feel of your regular news feed. The Twitter aspect of it is really great! It's very easy to use and I LOVE how you can see pictures and videos inline, rather than having to click out to another page to view them. The instant messenger style box for DM conversations is also really handy. Oh, and it supports Twitter lists already.</text>

<description>Brizzly is a web-based application for Twitter and Facebook, currently in beta. With Brizzly the standard Twitter timeline is expanded by directly embedding any linked images, video &amp; audio media into it. Users can also create Twitter lists directly via the Brizzly interface, as well as add multiple Twitter accounts.</description>

<text>Transmission is a straight forward BitTorrent client with an easy to use and easy to understand interface. I've used it in OS X, where it was pretty good, and I've used it in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, where it seems to really kick ass. It lets you choose which parts of a torrent you want to download and you can flip through a few screens of stats, like peers, etc. Standard stuff.</text>

<description>Transmission has been built from the ground up to be a lightweight, yet powerful BitTorrent client. Its simple, intuitive interface is designed to integrate tightly with whatever computing environment you choose to use. Transmission strikes a balance between providing useful functionality without feature bloat. Furthermore, it is free for anyone to use or modify.</description>

<text>Google Wave isn't all that special. It incorporates a lot of existing technologies, but ultimately it fails in the performance and ease of use departments. It runs horribly on my wife's laptop, both in terms of speed and in layout. The majority of content in the Waves is cut off because it goes too far to the right. There's no left/right scroll bar. The thing is also horrible with going through Playback. It's just so busy that Playback is near worthless. The worst part is that there's no way to lock a Blip in a Wave to prevent someone else from editing it, or from deleting everything in the Wave.

It's pretty heavy on resources and makes your fans spin up. I also heard that if you leave it open it starts dragging more and more.

This thing is not an e-mail killer. I honestly can't even think of a reason to use it other than to test it out and say I've used Google Wave.</text>

<description>A wave is a new communication platform and technology, much like e-mail is today, but so much more. Developed by Google but open-sourced, you can see the preview of this technology in action on Google's wave server, conveniently named Google Wave. It's not a social network, not a web tool, not a proprietary software; but a whole new communication device evolved from e-mail, forums, chat, social sites etc.</description>

<text>Regarding the OS X version: Safari 4 has a very clean interface. It's very easy to use and it's very fast. Some of my favorite features are the Top Sites tab, the Snapback to Search Results feature, and the visual history. There are a few plug-ins I miss from Firefox, but it's easy enough to find a few bookmarklets to get around that. Safari just feels like a snappier, faster interface. It definitely starts up faster. Every time I try to go back to Firefox I find myself reopening Safari.</text>

<text>Not a bad search engine, overall. I really enjoy the user interface, especially how the image search results appear in a sort of endless column that you scroll down through. On the other hand, Bing doesn't do adult searches or something that may result in something that's even closely related to an adult search, which can be annoying. Also, it seems to have something against the home page of my blog. Still, I'll keep at it for another few days and then make my final choice between it and going back to Google, but so far, I think I'll be going back to Google.</text>

<description>Bing is the name of Microsoft's web search engine, and it is designed to be a &quot;decision engine&quot; which is a different approach to compete with traditional search industry leaders Google and Yahoo!. Bing is accessible through &quot;Bing.com&quot; and other Microsoft products such as Windows Live, MSN, Internet Explorer.

Bing offers some innovative features, such as the ability to view website information straight from the search result page (instead of clicking through results one by one) and the infinite scroll on image search result, meaning no &quot;next page&quot; is required to click when dealing with very large amount of visual results. </description>

<text>This is a nice setup. It offers a lot of monitoring options and scheduled scans. Besides the real time anti-virus monitoring it monitors changes to your files and alerts you based on your settings. My only complaint is the list you get for suspect files that you have to manually move to your safe file list. It should be more intelligent. Obviously, files that are signed by Microsoft or HP should be trusted automatically.</text>
