<text>Allows software written in the 60's to be run in a 32bit OS environment. Usually implemented by IT professionals who manage to sell this outdated solution to poor unknowingly computer illiterate middle management. Said IT professionals then quit their IT professional role, and then subcontract for the same company for around $1000 a minute.</text>

<text>Everyone I know who plays this game becomes an addict. They play no other games. They do nothing else with their PC. They stop venturing outside. They lose their job. They lose their friends. They lose their family. They just sit on their arse and play this game hour after hour for days on end. Be warned.</text>

<text>I've been using winamp for about 8 years now. But I'd have to say that it's time on my desktop has been &amp; gone. I'm currently changing media players from Winamp to VLC, http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ which seems to play absolutely everything I throw at it, all music &amp; video formats. Although Winamp can be modified to play majority of media formats, Winamp requires many plugins etc, half of which are dodgy and do not work. Compare this to the one off install of VLC that seems to have all codecs and needed plugins provided. Check it out.

Cheers

<description>Winamp is a proprietary media player written by Nullsoft, a subsidiary of AOL Time Warner. It is skinnable, multi-format freeware / shareware.

Key features of Winamp 5

&#183; Winamp can use both Modern and Classic skins, so you can be both hip and retro at the same time.
&#183; Winamp gives you easy and organized access to your favorite media. That's what you call mass media
&#183; Winamp can play a huge variety of audio and video formats right out of the box... err... out of the installation.
&#183; You get access to hundreds of free audio and video channels in the Media Library. This ain't your father's library.
&#183; Winamp can burn your music to CDs.
&#183; Winamp makes it easy to create and manage your favorite songs through playlists. Yes, you can be your own DJ.
&#183; Winamp allows you to extend it's functionality through the use of &quot;plug-ins&quot; Its like the Mr. Potato Head of music.
&#183; Winamp will allow you to alter the sound of your music through a built-in Equalizer. An audio receiver right on your PC.
&#183; Winamp allows you to watch visual effects that are driven from your music with Visualizations. From flaming fireballs to screaming strobe effects, its all there.</description>
