O thanks for the QTTabBar. I wasn't aware that there were addons to explorer like this.
The most recent version of Pidgin has a plugin set that lets you receive messages when you're online. You can find them by clicking on Tools|Add-ons and a window will appear listing all the add-ons available. You should choose the one that says "Offline message emulation" or something like that (my Pidgin is in Spanish, so I'm unaware of its name in English) and you're done. Hope this helps you, good luck!
