Gmail, officially Google Mail in Germany and the United Kingdom, is a free POP3 and IMAP webmail service provided by Google. On April 1, 2004 the product began as an invitation-only beta release. On February 7, 2007 the beta version was opened to the general public. With an initial storage capacity of 1 GB (and growing, now over 7 GB), it drastically increased the standard for free storage.
Today it's also possible to visit the site trough: http://www.gmail.com, although it redirects still to mail.google.com

It also can be used as a SaaS-webmail for your domain with help of Google Apps.

Microsoft Expression Web -
Deliver visually compelling, standards-compliant Web experiences with Expression Web 3
Whether you're an expert or just getting started, building standards-based Web sites is faster and easier with Microsoft Expression Web 3.

Create compelling Web sites visually
If you think and create visually, use the state-of-the-art design surface to layout your Web page. You can make design decisions on the fly, knowing that you're seeing a faithful representation of the final browser-rendered page.

Drag and drop controls simplify adding rich media, such as Silverlight from Microsoft Expression Blend, Silverlight video, Adobe Flash, and Windows Media. And advanced Adobe Photoshop file import gives you complete control over imported layers and transparency.

Google search is the most used search engine on the web. Google receives several hundred million queries each day through its various services. Besides the main search engine feature of searching for text, the search engine can also be used as a calculator, base, unit and currency converter, dictionary and many other useful tools. Google search was originally developed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1997.

Google's search algorithm uses a patented system called PageRank to help rank web pages that match a given search string. The PageRank algorithm computes a recursive score for web pages, based on the weighted sum of the PageRanks of the pages linking to them. The PageRank derives from human-generated links, and is thought to correlate well with human concepts of importance. The exact percentage of the total of web pages that Google indexes is not known, as it is very hard to actually calculate.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to publish updates (known as tweets) and read other users' updates (also known as tweets).

Twitter now offers 'lists' which allow you to group your followers and/or non-followers into different lists (public or private), so perhaps subjects include family, friends, co-workers, etc.

This is especially useful if you are following thousands of people, and want to see just a certain amount of peoples' tweets without unfollowing thousands of people, or constantly checking various profiles for new updates.

Last.fm is a UK-based Internet radio and music community website, founded in 2002. It claims over 21 million active users based in more than 200 countries. On 30 May 2007, CBS Interactive acquired Last.fm for £140m ($280m USD).

Using a music recommendation system called "Audioscrobbler", Last.fm builds a detailed profile of each user's musical taste by recording details of all the songs the user listens to, either on the streamed radio stations or on the user's computer or some portable music devices. This information is transferred to Last.fm's database ("scrobbled") via a plugin installed into the user's music player. The profile data is then displayed on the user's profile page. The site offers numerous social networking features and can recommend and play artists similar to the user's favourites.

Users can create custom radio stations and playlists from any of the audio tracks in Last.fm's music library, and are able to listen to some individual tracks on demand, or download tracks if the rights holder has previously authorised it. Registration is required to acquire a profile but is not necessary to view any part of the site or to listen to radio stations.

Only free in the U.S., Germany and U.K.

<text>Cool! I'm listed as a most active user! Anyway, Mozy kicks butt and I love it. I also had a great experience with their tech support. I have this baby set to back up when I'm away from my PC for 20 minutes - which isn't often! They store files for 30 days even if you delete them - but those files do not count towards your quota!</text>

Winamp is a proprietary media player written by Nullsoft, a subsidiary of AOL Time Warner. It is skinnable, multi-format freeware / shareware.

Key features of Winamp 5

· Winamp can use both Modern and Classic skins, so you can be both hip and retro at the same time.
· Winamp gives you easy and organized access to your favorite media. That's what you call mass media
· Winamp can play a huge variety of audio and video formats right out of the box... err... out of the installation.
· You get access to hundreds of free audio and video channels in the Media Library. This ain't your father's library.
· Winamp can burn your music to CDs.
· Winamp makes it easy to create and manage your favorite songs through playlists. Yes, you can be your own DJ.
· Winamp allows you to extend it's functionality through the use of "plug-ins" Its like the Mr. Potato Head of music.
· Winamp will allow you to alter the sound of your music through a built-in Equalizer. An audio receiver right on your PC.
· Winamp allows you to watch visual effects that are driven from your music with Visualizations. From flaming fireballs to screaming strobe effects, its all there.

TweetDeck is an Adobe Air desktop application that is currently in public beta. It aims to evolve the existing functionality of Twitter by taking an abundance of information (i.e twitter feeds), and breaking it down into more manageable bite sized pieces. TweetDeck enables users to split their main feed (All Tweets) into topic or group specific columns allowing a broader overview of tweets. To do this All Tweets are saved to a local database. The far left column will always contain All Tweets. The GROUP, SEARCH and REPLIES buttons then allow the user to make up additional columns populated from the database. Once created these additional columns will automatically update allowing the user to keep track of a twitter threads far easier.
