  • Free Realms

I've been enjoying Free Realms. I'm a strange creature who enjoys MMOs but often prefers to solo and this game is perfect for that mindset. I also enjoy the mini-game aspect, especially since I'm a fan of Tower Defense. There are some bugs and interface issues but the game is new so I expect those will iron out. My biggest issue is that, like a lot of free games out there, it is not free if you want true playability. Perhaps I wouldn't mind so much if the name weren't FREE Realms. And if they didn't try to double dip a bit by having both an optional membership fee AND buyable items such as the pets.

As a bargain hunter, I am a huge fan of Woot! Sure, they aren't all winners but you can't please everyone all of the time. When it's good, it's great and the anticipation of "what will be next!?!" is what really drives the site.

Simple and free software for *cough* backing up your DVDs.

One of, if not, the best photo sharing sites on the 'net and certainly one of the most well-known.

Fun and funny, this game is chock full of pop references and just good ol' silly humor.

Stumbling is terribly addictive. Kind of that potato chip theory where once you start, it's hard to stop because you want to see what you discover next.

  • Dungeon Runners
    Overall:

If WoW and Diablo had an illegitimate child, Dungeon Runners would be it. Fun and addictive. I have to disagree with tapo and say that, unlike most "free" MMOs, it is very playable without purchasing membership. Even so, the price is so low that it's a bargain even if you decide to subscribe in comparison to many MMOs out there.
