<text>It is the content that makes this site - I can't think of anything particularly outstanding about the site itself. I guess that is a good thing, you go there to find videos and watch them. The search function is good, and they play well.</text>

YouTube is the most popular social network and video sharing website.

YouTube features a wide variety of user-generated video content, including movie clips, TV clips, and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video blogging and short original videos.
The maximum size for uploading videos is 2 gb. The maximum length is 10 minutes for normal users. Special users can upload video as long as they want.

<text>This is a brilliant app. it is very simple to use 'on the surface' but dig deeper and it becomes so much more powerful.

With the use of filters you can quickly highlight the important email and separate into into categories, even bypassing the really unimportant things from the inbox. You never need to delete anything so it can always be searched for at a later date.

Viewing emails as conversations is brilliant as it is so clear to see who has said what - this is highlighted when you have a conversation with a couple of people, one using Gmail and another using another email provider. The Gmail parts of the conversation are clear to read just showing the latest comments, whilst the content from a person on another email provider shows all the previous thread in each email and it looks so ugly!

With the addition of a google docs app, a calender app, a tasks app and a search app this email couldn't get much better.

Then go into Labs with all the etra features available there, and realise it can.</text>

Gmail, officially Google Mail in Germany and the United Kingdom, is a free POP3 and IMAP webmail service provided by Google. On April 1, 2004 the product began as an invitation-only beta release. On February 7, 2007 the beta version was opened to the general public. With an initial storage capacity of 1 GB (and growing, now over 7 GB), it drastically increased the standard for free storage.
Today it's also possible to visit the site trough: http://www.gmail.com, although it redirects still to mail.google.com

It also can be used as a SaaS-webmail for your domain with help of Google Apps.

<text>Too simple. Needs more features. I much prefered using Utorrent and as I write this I'm thinking I need to get a new bittorrent client.

One of the annoying things is when you have downloaded a lot of content and then have to search through the list for it. it doesn't display in easy to read rows of text seperated into columns, but blocks which are difficult to quickly see what you are looking for.</text>

Transmission has been built from the ground up to be a lightweight, yet powerful BitTorrent client. Its simple, intuitive interface is designed to integrate tightly with whatever computing environment you choose to use. Transmission strikes a balance between providing useful functionality without feature bloat. Furthermore, it is free for anyone to use or modify.

SANE stands for "Scanner Access Now Easy" and is an application programming interface (API) that provides standardized access to any raster image scanner hardware (flatbed scanner, hand-held scanner, video- and still-cameras, frame-grabbers, etc.). The SANE standard is free and its discussion and development are open to everybody. The current source code is written to support several operating systems, including GNU/Linux, OS/2, Win32 and various Unices and is available under the GNU General Public License (commercial applications and backends are welcome, too, however).

<text>Simplifymedia is brilliant. It allows you to access a friends music content on their hard drive and play streaming music.

Just need to find more friends with a decent music collection.

There are also recorders you can get to copy record the music you play from your friends hard drive thought they are probably of dubious legality </text>

Nautilus is the official file manager for the GNOME desktop. Browse directories, preview files and launch applications associated with them. Is responsible for handling the icons on the GNOME desktop. It works on local and remote filesystems.

Several icon themes and components for viewing different kinds of files are available in separate packages.
With tabbed file browsing it makes for a simple file manager with minimal windows cluttering your desktop space.
