<text>Sure Outlook is bloated, but it's one of the best if you have a huge number of emails to deal with daily and keep an eye on your calendar/appointments. 2007 was improved enough to make me leave Eudora in it's favour. But if you're looking for simple and fast email handling, look elsewhere. Outlook's for the serious business user.</text>

Microsoft Outlook or Outlook is a personal information manager from Microsoft, and is part of the Microsoft Office suite.

Although often used mainly as an e-mail application, it also provides a calendar, task and contact management, note taking, a journal and web browsing.

It can be used as a stand-alone application, but can also operate in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server to provide enhanced functions for multiple users in an organization, such as shared mailboxes and calendars, Exchange public folders, Sharepoint lists and meeting time allocation.

<text>SplashID has done wonders for me in terms of password storage. I carry it around on my Palm Treo and keep it synchronized with the desktop counterpart. Amazingly useful if you're a geek and have hundreds of logins/passwords for different websites/forums to remember. My only complain was auto-filling of forms and they've implemented that to some extent in the latest version. </text>

Also known as AutoGK. An integrated package for the entire process of DVD to AVI/MPEG-4 encoding. It combines multiple free software packages to perform the various tasks needed to rip, demux, encode, multiplex and split to size etc. It thereby attempts to combine most tasks with a single frontend to variable degrees of effectiveness. With it's batch menu's/features it's really easy to configure and run all the tasks of converting and adding subtitles withing a simple menu.

<text>I have tried X1, Yahoo, Google, Windows Desktop Search and Copernic, and it terms of ease-of-use and reliability, Copernic truly stands out! You have a separate window to see your results in (not a browser like Google), and filtering those results can be very useful to narrow down your search. Copernic's indexing speed is slower than X1, but that doesn't bother me since it does that when you're not using your computer. The only problem is that it's index can get humongous (several GB) if you have tens of thousands of documents in your computer like I do. Otherwise, this is the best desktop search for Windows amongst both freeware and shareware!</text>

“The desktop search engine, Copernic, does for the PC what Google does for the web, and with the same astonishing speed. No matter how big the hard drive, just type in a keyword or two and you can track down pretty much anything, even ancient emails. Copernic works by creating an index of everything on the hard drive. This index is created and updated whenever the computer is idle, and so has no effect on the machine's performance. The result is a lightning-fast search engine that needs few clues to track down the most vaguely remembered document or an old email address. There are other desktop search engines, but Copernic is the one hoovering up the plaudits and industry awards. That is not unrelated to how much it costs: absolutely nothing.”

PDF control is great in Acrobat in the sense that you can convert to and from almost any format and optimize to any quality or size.
Microsoft Office Access is a relational database management system from Microsoft which combines the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface. Access can use data stored in Access/Jet, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or any ODBC-compliant data container. Skilled software developers and data architects use it to develop application software. Relatively unskilled programmers and non-programmer 'power users' can use it to build simple applications. It supports some object-oriented techniques but falls short of being a fully object-oriented development tool.

<text>I have used GetRight back since it was version 3. It was the best download manager then, and without a doubt, still is. It leaves the likes of FlashGet, Download Accelerator, light years behind with its ability to schedule, automate, synchronize and script for downloads and uploads. With version 6 they added Podcasts and BitTorrent support and I fell in love with it all over again!</text>
