<text>On the subject of "minor compatibility issues".

At work I'm stuck using Excel 2000. I have to export files in CSV format so they can be imported into another application. But if I have to go back and edit them, half the time Excel 2000 refuses to open them.

OpenOffice does open them. Every time, without complaint.</text>

Microsoft Outlook or Outlook is a personal information manager from Microsoft, and is part of the Microsoft Office suite.

Although often used mainly as an e-mail application, it also provides a calendar, task and contact management, note taking, a journal and web browsing.

It can be used as a stand-alone application, but can also operate in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server to provide enhanced functions for multiple users in an organization, such as shared mailboxes and calendars, Exchange public folders, Sharepoint lists and meeting time allocation.

Microsoft provides the client software Remote Desktop Connection (formerly called Terminal Services Client), available for most 32-bit versions of their Windows operating systems and Apple's Mac OS X, that allows a user to connect to a server running Terminal Services. Third-party developers have created client software for other platforms, including the open source rdesktop client for common Unix platforms. Both Terminal Services and Remote Desktop Protocol use TCP port 3389 by default, which is editable in the Windows registry.
