<text>In the war for best AIR-powered Twitter desktop clients, I have to give a slight edge to Seesmic Desktop, over Tweetdeck. It's more a matter of personal preference, you can't go wrong with either one if you follow a lot of Tweeple and you're trying to shape the data coming out of the firehose that is Twitter in a meaningful way. What I prefer about Seesmic is the way you can create groups of users, either arbitrarily or based on keywords. I think this grouping feature alone is executed just a little better than Tweetdeck, and that's why Seesmic is my choice right now. Of course, your mileage may vary.</text>

<text>This is the Windows equivalant of Fluid for Mac OS X. I found it very easy to set-up and use, but it didn't quite have all the features of Fluid, like allowing a little more control over the behavior of the SSB's you create, but that's just a minor quibble. Prism is very useful, especially if you run a lot of Web apps.</text>

<description>Prism is an application that lets users split web applications out of their browser and run them directly on their desktop.

Prism is a simple XULRunner based browser that hosts web applications without the normal web browser user interface. Prism is based on a concept called Site Specific Browsers (SSB). An SSB is an application with an embedded browser designed to work exclusively with a single web application. It doesn&#8217;t have the menus, toolbars and accoutrements of a normal web browser. Some people have called it a &quot;distraction free browser&quot; because none of the typical browser chrome is used. An SSB also has a tighter integration with the OS and desktop than a typical web application running through a web browser. </description>

<text>This is a great Twitter client if you follow lots of people and are interested in tracking tweet-conversations around certain keywords. It also has a very powerful grouping feature that makes it easy to organize the Tweeple you're interested in following. All-around winner.</text>

<description>TweetDeck is an Adobe Air desktop application that is currently in public beta. It aims to evolve the existing functionality of Twitter by taking an abundance of information (i.e twitter feeds), and breaking it down into more manageable bite sized pieces. TweetDeck enables users to split their main feed (All Tweets) into topic or group specific columns allowing a broader overview of tweets. To do this All Tweets are saved to a local database. The far left column will always contain All Tweets. The GROUP, SEARCH and REPLIES buttons then allow the user to make up additional columns populated from the database. Once created these additional columns will automatically update allowing the user to keep track of a twitter threads far easier.</description>

<text>Twhirl was my first AIR Twitter client, and though I've experimented with many others, I always seem to come back to Twhirl because of it's simplicity, and it's small footprint in terms of screen real estate.</text>
