<text>Faces is iPhoto's killer feature, it makes organising and finding photos so much easier. Places isn't as awesome as I had hoped it would be but it is great to be able to see all of my geotagged photos in iPhoto instead of launching Google Earth.

The interface is easy to use and the Faces interface is particularly fun to use.

As for performance, my library is getting a little big and iPhoto will slow down a titbit otherwise it's excellent.

As for price, it's free with every new Mac and included in the iLife suite, it's excellent value for money.

I can't wait for Apple to release the next major version.</text>

<description>A program that allows you to import, organize, and retouch your photos. Included as part of the iLife suite.

iPhoto is designed to allow easy importing from digital cameras, scanners, picture CDs and the internet. Almost all digital cameras work without additional software, as do many scanners. iPhoto supports most common image file formats.

Once photos are imported, they can be optionally titled, labeled, sorted and organized into groups (known as &quot;events&quot;). Individual photos can be edited with basic image manipulation tools, such as a red-eye filter, contrast and brightness adjustments, crop and resize and other basic functions.</description>

<text>Apple has made huge improvements to Install Mac OS X. You don't have to restart to begin the installation process. The interface is more straightforward now. Though I have not tried it for myself, if you suffer a blackout during installation, you can pick up right where you left off once the power is back. A friend tried it out and he said it worked brilliantly.</text>

<text>Screen Sharing could do with a few more features. There used to be some hidden features that could be enabled via Terminal but Apple took them out, which was a shame because I used to use them a lot. That being said, Screen Sharing does the job nicely, it beats getting up and walking from one side of the house to the other and back again multiple times. The interface is simple but it could be more immersive. I'd like to be able to change the volume on the shared Mac with the volume keys on my keyboard and the only way of switching applications on the shared Mac is to use the Dock, which doesn't work well over a network. Performance is pretty good, of course that mostly depends on what network you're using. Price, Screen Sharing is included with Leopard so effectively, it's free.</text>

<text>A good web based RSS reader. I used to use Safari for all my RSS needs, then I switched to Thunderbird and later NetNewsWire. I didn't really like any of them for a variety of reasons but then I came across Google Reader and I've never looked back.

The thing that I like most about Google Reader is that is works on anything that has a web browser, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, Safari, Opera, Firefox, IE, Chrome or Camino. It doesn't matter which platform I'm on or which browser I use, I will always be able to read my RSS feeds with Google Reader.

Features are pretty basic but then I don't need advanced features for something as simple as RSS feeds, it does exactly what I want. The interface is good, clean and simple. I would rate it as one of Google's best. Performance is always solid, even on really bad dial up connections or poor EDGE reception and as for price, it's free!</text>

<text>An excellent replacement for the Finder. Path Finder is packed with features. My favourites are the Dual Pane browser, the Drop Stack and tabbed browsing. They make heavy duty file management so much easier. The interface is infinitely customisable, everything can be changed, rearranged, added and removed to the users liking. Both the features and interface can be a little overwhelming for new users but you quickly get used to all of Path Finder's neat tricks and unparalleled flexibility. Performance is excellent and you get a lot for 40 bucks.

Download it, try it, buy it, never look back.</text>

<text>My favourite browser on Mac OS X. It's like a native version of Firefox, the look, feel and function of Camino is nicely integrated with OS X. I like how Camino uses Keychain access for password storage instead of it's own system like Firefox. My favourite feature by far is it's low resource use. Camino only uses 10 to 20% CPU on my PowerBook G4, whereas Safari 4 uses 30 to 60% CPU for the same number of tabs. This means I can browse the web for longer when on battery power.</text>

<text>Safari 4 is a good browser, not great but good. The interface needs some work, I like it but I think Apple needs to make some minor changes, especially the way Tabs on Top are handled. But they really need to get rid of the interface &quot;improvements&quot; to the address bar. Bring the blue loading bar back!

Apple should add official support for third party plugins and add-ons, I'm sick of PithHelmet breaking every time Safari is updated.

I'd also like to see Safari's tabs run as separate processes, just like they do in Google Chrome. I'm tired of Safari crashing on me when I have a million tabs open.

Performance, apart from the aforementioned million tabs crash, performance is excellent and Safari 4 is noticeably faster than previous versions.

Price, it's free. The only thing that would make it better is if Apple paid us to use it.

I've tried other browsers many times but I always end up back with Safari, it's my favourite browser by far.

Though it will have some tough competition from Google Chrome.</text>
