A big improvement over previous versions and after a little preference tweaking, nice to see a clean, crisp and relatively ad-free UI is obtainable. Through a combination of iTunes and Last.fm for Windows, I'm able to use the 'Show what I'm listening to' feature, the Contact Editor is quite nice and concise and my Apple iSight (external) works as a webcam with the software.

2356 3 I'm kinda being 'forced' to use Windows Media Player because it works seamlessly with my Creative MP3 player, my Windows Mobile Smartphone and my Xbox 360 - if I had a choice, I'd be using Amarok (Linux). Windows Media Player is not as impressive as it should be; especially since it's the default player on Windows out of the box. Whilst it integrates well into Windows and other Microsoft products, the method of tagging tracks is weak (as is the ID3 support), fetching track details on CD insert is really badly implemented (and very inaccurate) and I'm disappointed that it doesn't hold support for OGG. I'm just thankful of the Last.fm support.

With the re-brand to Pidgin, the application now works both at home and at work. With the exception of Adium (Mac OSX), it's the best multi-client instant messenger I've used to date. Love it.
