<text>Very simple vector graphics package. If all you need is some basic vector drawing capabilities then Lineform will suffice.

Does have some quirky interface elements. Would benefit immensely from some attention to detail.</text>

<text>Outstanding motion graphics package. Even amateurs such as myself can produce good quality motion graphics in 3D.

Manipulating motion graphics on screen is a breeze. Complex animations, particle effects, text manipulation are all simple and can all operate in a 3D environment. Combining multiple animated parameter settings provides all the flexibility one could hope for.

The motion tracking is also impressive and works very well if good reference points are selected.

In addition to pure motion graphics Motion also provides stabilisation and slow motion processing, two processes essential to producing professional video.

Motion's optical flow technology produces slow motion inter-framing that is nothing short of astonishing.

Comparing Motion to After Effects is wrong. This is like comparing Illustrator to photoshop, they're designed to do completely different jobs. Motion is a motion graphics tool, not an effects tool. For this you need to compare Apple's Shake (their effects and compositing tool) to After Effects.</text>

<description>Motion 3 takes the complexity out of 3D by extending the 2D tools you already use. With its intuitive interface and rich toolset, the only limit is your imagination. Send particles exploding through space. Swing cameras around an object with breathtaking ease. Squiggle a vector-based paint stroke in 3D through the cosmos. Motion 3 lets you create 3D motion graphics with drag-and-drop ease, startling performance, and unprecedented color fidelity.</description>

<text>Originally got this for a quick way to convert flash videos to/from Quicktime. Great little application. (I recently went to whole hog and now use the CRAM 1.0 library for Compressor to do this job, but considering the prices of these two solutions, for everyday use VisualHub was a clear winner.)

Very sorry to see it's gone.</text>

<text>I'm not a professional, but even I appreciate the power and easy of use of this tool. I use this with the Studio Pro suite of applications and although I occasionally get myself in a knot switching between the various applications (passing multi-track projects too and fro between Final Cut) I usually see the problem and fix them quickly. The documentation is fantastic, the power amazing and all in all even someone as unversed in sound engineering as me can quickly produce very acceptable results.

Does seem to lag a little at times, which is surprising. Nothing too tragic though.

As with all comprehensive tools, there is a steep learning curve to overcome, but it's well worth the effort.</text>

<text>Outstanding NLE. I use this as part of the Apple Studio Pro and it is blindingly good. Even a non-professional like me can use this editor and get great results relatively easily.

As with any comprehensive tool, you need to climb a steep learning curve (learn the keyboard shortcuts! These will save you many hours work) but once you clear this you will find it easy to produce some amazing results.</text>

The plugins win the day every time. Without the additional power offered by the extensive plugin library I would probably use other browsers more often.</text>

<description>Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite, managed by the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox had 24.07% of the recorded usage share of web browsers as of October 2009, making it the second-most popular browser worldwide, after Internet Explorer, which is the factory default browser on all Windows computers.

In 5 months, Firefox has gathered steam and now owns more than 25% of usage share of web browsers closing the gap between it and IE.

To display web pages, Firefox uses the Gecko layout engine, which implements some current web standards plus a few features which are intended to anticipate likely additions to the standards.

Firefox includes tabbed browsing, a spell checker, incremental find, live bookmarking, a download manager, and an integrated search system that uses the user's desired search engine. Functions can be added through add-ons created by third-party developers, the most popular of which include Adblock Plus, Video DownloadHelper, NoScript, Personas, FlashGot, and Greasemonkey, along with many others.

Firefox runs on various versions of Microsoft Windows (version 3.5 supports Windows Vista and XP; although not officially supported as of November 2009, Firefox is compatible with Windows 7), Mac OS X (10.4 or later officially supported), most Linux distributions, and many other Unix-like operating systems.

Its current stable release branch is version 3.5, first released on June 30th, 2009. Firefox's source code is free software, released under a tri-license of GPL/LGPL/MPL.</description>

<description>Colloquy is an open-source IRC, SILC and ICB client for Mac OS X. It uses its own chat core that is also included as part of the ChatKit project, though in the past it used Irssi as its IRC protocol engine. Its developers' goal is to offer a robust IRC, SILC and ICB experience to users while blending seamlessly with the look and feel of other Mac OS X applications. To this end, Colloquy provides a user interface that is consistent with Apple's Human interface guidelines in addition to traditional IRC command-line controls. Colloquy also has comprehensive support for scripting and can be automated using Applescript.</description>

<text>I am trialing Wordpress (wordpress.com) alongside other blog solutions (Blogspot, Tumblr, LiveJournal...) and so far Wordpress is streets ahead. It's interface is clean and intuitive to navigate. It has a clean interface and many for facilities than other blogs. One really simple but useful feature is the ability (on wordpress.com) to assign your own domain name (I have mine set to a subdomain http://blog.principia-it.co.uk ). This makes integration with a website much simpler. Sure, there are still issues (like carrying over user accounts), but for most simple applications it works brilliantly and if I really thought that was an issue I could integrate Wordpress into the main site 'cos it's open source - nice!Definitely my current top choice for blogging. If this continues I shall drop the others shortly.</text>

WordPress has a templating system, which includes widgets that can be rearranged without editing PHP or HTML code, as well as themes that can be installed and switched between. The PHP and HTML code in themes can also be edited for more advanced customizations. WordPress also features integrated link management; a search engine-friendly, clean permalink structure; the ability to assign nested, multiple categories to articles; multiple author capability; and support for tagging of posts and articles.</description>
