I use it for HTML/CSS/JS/Wordpress development and I couldn't ask more, although it tends to hang and freeze.

Has very poor performance. Personal revision control is a plus, cygwin requirement is a big minus.
You should try Sublime Text if you are just using this bulkware for its snippet feature.

Has been my editor of choice for quite some time now. Has got some unique features among it's windows competitors like a mini version control system, support for textmate snippets and bundles, themes for syntax highlighting and more.

Since the company behind it has been made into an open company, it's seeing a lot of releases.

I really wish though that they would incorporate some of the new features from notepad++, which for an free editor, is pretty damn good. Performance could also be improved by a bit.

btw, I edit a lot of php/html/css files on this editor, for those who might want the extra information.

Simply the best way to quick dev in text mode for any language.
E has a simple and light interface and the Textmate Bundle support is just wonderful! Using a theme with a dark background is also of great use for eye rest.

I've been using e for awhile and I haven't found an editor that supports the bundles and the short cut keys that I've gotten used to use in textmate. It's got it's flaws, I've noticed that it uses a lot of memory and will crash on me. Overall, it's pretty good for what it does and the support from the developer is awesome!

I love E. As a windows user, the only thing I ever missed from the mac experience was textmate. With E I don't feel left out and the support of bundles is awesome.

It is indeed really awesome, especially under the hood. It might feel like basic but the opportunities and advantages that are in E will be looked upon as very notable.

Its version control is brilliant, syntax highlighting is smart and fast. It seems on one hand deceptively simple and on the other, a convoluted mire of various files you have to edit to get things working the way you want them to.

I can't say it isn't a great editor--there are many things I quite like about it. But, at the end of the day, I'm not sold on the bundle concept: which is crucial for e-love. It really doesn't fit the way I work, isn't a true MDI (Tabs are *not* true MDI) . So e probably isn't the end-all editor for me.

As for the text editor, I have to say I like Notepad2 better. I'm just using this program because it supports remote editing of files via FTP.

If only they'd fix some of E's bugs...
