I use Dropbox beside Microsoft Foldershare. Foldershare syncs my two machines
for me, and Dropbox backs everything up to their Internet servers. Why still use
Foldershare? Because Dropbox insists on having all the shared folder in one
place.
And by the way, Dropbox has an iPhone app. Very handy!
Dropbox is a great way to keep important files in sync between different
computers. Also, I use it more than UbuntuOne because it's cross-platform; if I
get Win7, I'll need something that works on Windows as well as Ubuntu.
If you have multiple computers, sharing files is annoying... until you have
Dropbox. Integrating into a normal file/folder structure, there's no learning
curve. For easy document backup, just create shortcuts to the Dropbox folder -
everytime you save a file, it's saved automatically online and across all your
other systems that have dropbox enabled. Super easy. It works on both Mac and
Windows. And now there's an iphone app! If you need more space you can buy it.
Or you can refer friends and once they sign up dropbox will increase your space
for free. Definitely a must-have app.
Very great service. Although Live Mesh (Microsoft) and other services
(drop.io) try to beat it, it still retains the greatest feature-set, and the
price for subscription is very much worth it. I has public links integrated, so
anything in your public folder can be linked to and shared with anyone (even
people without DropBox.) Sharing folders is awesome as it allows you to sync
with other members' folders. Overall, a great service, and they deserve the 5
stars.
Definitely a great program. I really didn't know I needed it until I
downloaded it. Made my life so much easier, specially with the iPhone app that
allows me to read my documents and view my images anywhere, that without
counting the extremely useful synchronization between computers. With two more
features, it would be perfect: selective synchronization, being able to choose
which folders synchronize with each computer, and more than one Dropbox folder.
Really really good.
Отличное приложение и сервис для хранения данных.
