Use it for my work... Really editor allow really few edition, map even the
most up-to-date are... not up-to-date. It's not really possible to midify a map
to signal a change of street and no open source map allowed...
This app is for Garmin GPS devices. The maps are horrible expensive and
Garmin seems to try to keep legally free maps from that device. Why oh why can't
this app be just like Google Earth. But well, you need it. We have to deal with
it. Sure there are ways to install a free open street map: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/User:Computerteddy
This is a useful tool for getting your Garmin GPS mapsets from your PC to a
Mac. It will convert any mapset installed in Garmin Mapsource on a PC into a
format for use with Garmin's RoadTrip for Mac. The interface is fairly bare
bones and does not remember things like your previous settings, but the
conversion is otherwise quick and easy.
Very useful program for people with Garmin receivers. If you need
topographical maps for Canada, you can add free ones from here: http://www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/
Microsoft Streets and Trips works better for planning major trips because it
allows you to schedule stops for a certain number of days, does fuel
calculations, etc but if you have the proper maps Mapsource will get you
there.

This map software is specific to Garmin GPS receivers. It works fine but it's a bit of a bummer that it is not bundled with the GPS receivers.
