<text>It does what it does well - downloads podcasts. You can schedlue them to download and you have a lot of control over what to actually download. The podcast directory needs some work so you can check out the homepages without subscribing. You can click in the player to listen to your tracks but there is no way to sync new tracks to your iPod / flash drive from this app. You need to figure out your own syncing.</text>

<text>I still prefer explorer over finder. In explorer you can use the two pane tree view and drag and drop to dive in and out of the file hierarchy very easily. In finder, you have to open to windows and drag and drop between them and it's harder to zoom around the heirarchies. Explorer has annoyances that it is obviously full of hacks which cause it to block when things are happening in the file system. It is also annoying when it tries to second guess you on how a folder is displayed: e.g. a folder full of mp3s won't do a proper detailed list view so you can't sort by date.</text>

<text>iTunes is ok, you can use it most of the time to play what you want to listen to. I use it for shuffle mode and podcasts. There are probably better players and stuff but it meets my basic needs. I would like to be able to schedule the podcast updates but I have used a cron job with applescript to get around this limitation. I would easily switch to another podcasting app I think. Oh and it works with last.fm scrobbler.</text>

<description>iTunes is a digital media player application introduced by Apple in 2001 at Macworld Expo in San Francisco for playing and organizing digital music and video files. The program is also an interface to manage the contents on Apple's popular iPod digital media players. Additionally, iTunes can connect to the iTunes Store (provided an internet connection is present) in order to download purchased digital music, music videos, television shows, iPod games, audiobooks, various podcasts, and feature length films. </description>

<text>I don't really like personal firewalls but this one seems pretty good. You can tell it to just trust certain apps but sometimes it still needs to be convinced to trust an app completely (there are advanced settings). It keeps track of the parent processes so sometimes when you upgrade and the installer launches the app, it may lose the trust settings and keep bugging you. I like how you can set it up like IP tables in linux or just select applications to trust. You can also quickly turn it off from the task bar if you're about to do something that requires net access like some 'check for updates' programs need to have the firewall off.</text>
