Ya can't beat free! And, right now, the business model seems to just...work. They have implemented a research module - which took some heat a few months ago when they did, because they didn't really express that they were gonna do this. Also, the whole removing of Crapware during the install helps TONS too. Now, I'm an Alpha user - so, i don't use "Stable" builds anymore - which explains my rating for performance. But, they have lowered RAM usage TONS since i was first introduced almost 2 years ago. To see the company evolve into what it has become has been amazing! And, for a chat client to be in "Beta" still - but, have the reliability of a...not so beta product - is simply amazing! I've used Trillian before...but, it screwed up contact lists (In Astra) - and, also screwed up Facebook chat (Also in Astra.) So, needless to say, i recommend Digsby. I've even converted some friends who used to use Trillian! Prob'ly because it's simple, but, looks great, and way easier to use!

I love using digsby since soon 2 years and it's still my favourite messenger on windows. Didn't try miranda for quite long though, obviously i don't need to, got digsby ^^
Takes up some RAM, but it's worth it almost every bit ;)

It's a bit hard to rate this as compared to Trillian. The Win7 skin of Digsby is much better than the Cordonata skin of Trillian; but Digsby doesn't feel it offers me the same flexibility as Trillian does. That said; I'm shifting to Digsby for a while

A neat alternative to Trillian. Lacks a few additional functions like displaying music and triggering music messages. Hopefully they'll include IRC soon, too. Great looking program.

I love it for integrating instant messaging protocols with email accounts and social networks, so I have all in one place.

There are some things missing, like Skype IM (without voice), Google Talk file transfers and it has some performance issues.

    Still, a great app!

Digsby is streamlined, full-featured and has excellent integration with Twitter and Facebook. However, its huge memory footprint is just ridiculous for an IM app. It's 145MB for me right now, and its just idling in the background. I hope they improve performance in future releases.

I hated installing this since it came w/ so many crapware. A really convenient social network/im aggregator. Takes long to load though.
