The Bluetooth system in the Mac is awesome and steadily increasing, way better than the Windows equivalent. Although, sending through Skype or iChat is still a faster and simpler way than OBEX.
Since i work with Mobile MKT i use it a lot... :D

Is this bluetooth app like a framework for other apps, or do you use it directly, like to browse files on your mobile?

The way OS X handles Bluetooth is superb! Much better than the Windows equivelent.
