Changelog for version 6.1.7600.16384
More… MoreWindows Task Manager is a task manager application included with Microsoft Windows NT family of operating systems that provides detailed information about computer performance and running applications, processes and CPU usage, commit charge and memory information, network activity and statistics, logged-in users, and system services. The Task Manager can also be used to set process priorities, processor affinity, forcibly terminate processes, and shut down, restart, hibernate or log off from Windows. Windows Task Manager was introduced with Windows NT 4.0, previous versions of Windows NT included the Task List application, which had far fewer features. The task list was capable of listing currently running processes and killing them, or creating a new process.

Gathers various performance and system information, and lists running tasks. Good for killing troublesome tasks and just checking out what all is running on your computer. Would be nice if it used less CPU itself though.
<3 Very useful tool for finding out whats running.
CTRL+ALT+DEL :P
What is there to say about it? Only thing bad is that they changed the hotkey to ctrl-shift-esc and I had to learn it again.
Helpfull tool that shows core usage, you can kill programs etc etc. Can't live without it.
I've it open 24/7 because Microsoft changed the hotkey and i'm to lazy to learn the new one. Also it is very usefull if windows isn't responding..
Does what needs to be done
Been using this ever since I remember.
I generally don't have to hit those three magic buttons unless something is going wrong... but yeah. I remember seeing the "simple" Task Manager quite a bit back in the dark days of Windows 9x.
very nice especially in windows 7
