<text>TeamTalk is a voice chat application I use regularly, for hours at a time. You absolutely can't go wrong with the wonderful audio quality (it uses speex), easy to use interface, and 3d audio. It takes many fewer system resources than Ventrilo, and the TeamTalk server is completely free to everyone.</text>

<description>TeamTalk is a voice conferencing application. TeamTalk allows you to talk to friends and colleagues using the internet as audio carrier. With TeamTalk any number of people can participate in a conversation, only limited by the bandwidth you have available. Each user can choose his or her own audio quality which also determines the throughput required to each user. TeamTalk allows a throughput between 560 - 5850 bytes/sec. per user (so make sure those unlucky ones with a 56K modem are able to receive at your selected audio quality).

Features:

&#8226;Supports 8, 16 and 32 KHz audio for both low- and high-bandwidth users.
&#8226;Low lag by using UDP audio broadcasting and no buffering.
&#8226;Throughput between 560 bytes/sec. and 5850 bytes/sec. per user.
&#8226;Channels with topics and passwords.
&#8226;Share files with other users in your channel.
&#8226;Hotkeys and voice activation.
&#8226;Individual volume.
&#8226;Positioning of participants using 3D sound.
&#8226;Unicode-enabled to support multiple languages. </description>

<text>This is the best voicechat application we have ever had, or ever will have. Sounds wonderful! The 3d audio works well. And it's not cluttered up with webcam support or any of that junk, meaning it can run on even an older pc, or run in the background without lagging games. A pocket pc version is also available! </text>

<text>Many laptops today come with Intel wireless cards, but do not have the Intel software installed, instead installing less functional branded drivers. If you have one of these laptops, I would urge you to install the intel software! You will get vast range and speed improvements on most networks, and a more stable wireless connection. </text>

<text>Jaws is currently my screen reading software of choice. However, it has several problems, including many bugs that have remained unpatched for over 3 releases, despite the cries of thousands of users everywhere. The developers tend not to listen as closely to user feedback as they should, and have been known not to work as closely with Microsoft as many other screen reader companies. Despite these serious problems, jaws is, for now, the best bet for full desktop access, as well as an advanced scripting interface. However, Window Eyes, and the open source NVDA screen reader are beginning to approach jaws in functionality, so things may change in the near future. </text>

<description>JAWS (an acronym for Job Access With Speech) is a screen reader, a software program for visually impaired users, produced by the Blind and Low Vision Group at Freedom Scientific of St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. Its purpose is to make personal computers using Microsoft Windows accessible to blind and visually impaired users. It accomplishes this by providing the user with access to the information displayed on the screen via text-to-speech or by means of a braille display and allows for comprehensive keyboard interaction with the computer.</description>
