Not without quirks, but I'm sure they'll be ironed out eventually.</text>

TweetDeck is an Adobe Air desktop application that is currently in public beta. It aims to evolve the existing functionality of Twitter by taking an abundance of information (i.e twitter feeds), and breaking it down into more manageable bite sized pieces. TweetDeck enables users to split their main feed (All Tweets) into topic or group specific columns allowing a broader overview of tweets. To do this All Tweets are saved to a local database. The far left column will always contain All Tweets. The GROUP, SEARCH and REPLIES buttons then allow the user to make up additional columns populated from the database. Once created these additional columns will automatically update allowing the user to keep track of a twitter threads far easier.

<text>Not the fastest ripper out there, but if you're ripping to lossless, why would you skimp on accuracy?

Great, simple to use (Though some encoders are a bitch to set up) and logical.

Set it to use MusicBrainz and your tags are accurate to begin with, too!</text>

Exact Audio Copy is a so called audio grabber for audio CDs using standard CD and DVD-ROM drives. The main differences between EAC and most other audio grabbers are :

    * It is free (for non-commercial purposes)
    * It works with a technology which reads audio CDs almost perfectly. If there are any errors that can’t be corrected, it will tell you on which time position the (possible) distortion occurred, so you could easily control it with e.g. the media player.

In Audiosurf, you race down a futuristic and colorful highway. The highway, the traffic patterns, and the scenery are all synchronized to the music you have chosen from your own collection. You earn points for clustering together cars of the same color on the highway, and can compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.
This application was the first to use the Steamworks distribution platform created by Steam, and has won many awards for it's amazing and innovative gameplay.

<text>Okay, so I actually paid US$20 for this one. It's quite nice once you get used to it, configurable, has a usable interface, options are laid out nicely (And things aren't missing) and good community support (Primarily due to its age) which is a good thing. xD

I'm sticking with this for my Windows chatting needs.</text>

mIRC is a shareware Internet Relay Chat client for Windows, created in 1995 and developed by Khaled Mardam-Bey. Although it is a fully functional chat utility, its integrated scripting language makes it extensible and versatile.

mIRC is very popular, having been downloaded almost nine million times from CNET's download.com service as of March 2007. Nielsen Net Rankings also ranked mIRC among the top 10 most popular Internet applications in 2003.

The chat client is shareware, but you can still use it after 30 days.

<text>I wasn't too impressed with X-Chat. Finding a free binary of open-source software was a hassle, which it should NEVER be.

Add to that the clunky interface, some silly inconsistencies in Windows, and a lack of customizability except from heavy source modification, and... yeah. Sorry, you lost me on this one, guys.</text>

It has a choice of a tabbed or tree interface, support for multiple servers, and a high level of configurability. Both command line and graphical versions are available, although use of the graphical version far outweighs use of the command line version.

The Guide evolved from the need to have an application that could organize information and ideas in a hierarchical, tree-like structure. Tree-based structures are frequently employed to manage information through a "divide-and-conquer" approach, wherein each level of the tree represents a further level of specialization of the parent-level topic — the best example of this being a book.

The Guide is an application that allows you create documents ("guides") which inherently have a tree (which you can modify as you please) and text associated with each node of the tree. The text itself is of the rich-text variety, and the editor allows you to modify the style and formatting of the text (fonts, bold, italics etc).

Snarl is a notification system inspired by Growl for Macintosh that lets applications display fancy messages on the screen with the minimum of fuss - no complex code, libraries or other middleware required.

Unlike other forms of Windows notification, Snarl does not hijack the current focused window, nor does it force the taskbar to be visible. Notifications can either be cancelled by clicking on them, or left to disappear automatically if ignored for a period of time. Messages are extensible too: Snarl will notify the application which displayed the message if the user clicks it.

Probably best of all is that Snarl can display several messages at any one time; new messages are simply displayed alongside existing ones.

An application can display any number of messages, and can update the content, icon, and time the message appears for of any particular message at any time and explicitly remove the message if required.

Wakoopa is the perfect place for people to discover software online. When you sign up, you also install a small tracker that keeps tabs on what software you use. This creates an online profile for you to share with the world, and also gives you updates and recommendations on what your friends and others are using.
