Although I don't play with VoIP as much these days as I did a while ago due to college I've found JackenIAX to be a great tool in the past, so thank you for the work you've done so far. Sure, the user interface could be slicker, maybe something more like the Apple-like HUD panels or the iPhone dial pad, but looks never was something that keep me from using it. I found JackenIAX to be one of my essential tools while testing my Asterisk server.
There was one issue where upon JackenIAX starting it would sometimes pick an invalid audio device and as soon as it tried to use the sound input or output it would crash. It took me a while to figure out this was caused by MobileMe preference syncing and the difference in the audio setup on my Mac Pro and older PowerBook G4. When I need an Mac IAX phone, JackenIAX does what I need. In some ways, the "unrefined nature" of it all was nice because normal users don't care what codec is being used and the other such tech details. Maybe adding even more technical details, thou I don't know how difficult it would be to implement, things like latency, packet loss, etc. would be helpful for diagnostics. As I'm just starting to work with Cocoa myself I surely don't want so seem like I'm complaining as I am a believer in "don't complain unless you're willing to fix it yourself". So even if you never touch it again, I've found it to be a great app and it's fit my needs well, so no true complaints from me!
First I give out everything about my life in my blog, but now I can also share which software I use. Perfect!
