<text>The NNSquad Network Measurement Agent (NNMA) monitors network activity on computer systems, looking for and flagging a variety of potential problems. NNMA also includes a special function that attempts to detect reset (RST) packets that may have been injected into a TCP connection by any entity not located at the connection endpoints (for more on this feature, please see the NNMA methodology notes).

While the reset packet detection system included in this release is of interest, NNSquad views this package as more important in the long run as a development base for a broad range of network measurement functionalities and associated communications and analysis efforts.

The NNSquad Network Measurement Agent (NNMA) Beta 2.0.0.6 is released as open-source software under the LGPL (2.1), by the Network Neutrality Squad project of People For Internet Responsibility (PFIR). It was developed from the "Buster" network management and security program, which was specifically open-sourced by its authors at Praemio, Inc. in furtherance of the NNSquad project. Additional licensing details are included in both the installable and source distribution archives.

Transmission has been built from the ground up to be a lightweight, yet powerful BitTorrent client. Its simple, intuitive interface is designed to integrate tightly with whatever computing environment you choose to use. Transmission strikes a balance between providing useful functionality without feature bloat. Furthermore, it is free for anyone to use or modify.

µTorrent (also microTorrent or uTorrent) is a freeware proprietary BitTorrent client for Microsoft Windows & Mac OS X written in C++, and localized for many different languages. It can also be used under Linux based systems, via Wine. It's designed to use minimal computer resources - typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all. Additionally, the program itself is contained within a single executable less than 220 KB in size - while offering functionality comparable to clients such as Azureus or BitComet.
You can subscribe tracker's feeds and get new torrents via the feed and download them automatically.

<text>Great gecko web browser. Extensions are limited, but the most common ones - adblock, mouse gestures, tab mix plus - are there. Inredibly fast, with enough built in features.

You may not use it for your standard browser, but it is fantastic for checking a page in a second browser, being logged in to the same webpage under two logins, etc. </text>

Media Player Classic is a compact free software media player for Microsoft Windows. The application has a similar look and feel to the old light-weight Windows Media Player 6.4. Underneath, however, it is a completely different application which has all the options and features one might expect from a modern media player.

This player is capable of VCD, SVCD and DVD playback, without the need to install any additional software or codecs. Media Player Classic has built-in codecs for MPEG-2 video with support for subtitles and codecs for LPCM, MP2, AC3 and DTS audio. It also contains an improved MPEG splitter that supports subtitles on SVCDs and supports direct playback of VCDs and SVCDs using its VCD/SVCD/XCD Reader. On October 30, 2005 Gabest added *.mp4 and MPEG-4 Timed Text support. An AAC decoding filter has been present in MPC for a while, which makes MPC suitable for AAC playback in mp4.

Media Player Classic is primarily based on the DirectShow architecture, and therefore automatically uses installed DirectShow decoding filters. For instance, after the open source DirectShow decoding filter ffdshow has been installed, fast and high quality decoding and postprocessing of the DivX, Xvid, H.264 and Flash Video formats is available in MPC.

In addition to DirectShow, MPC can also use the QuickTime and the RealPlayer architectures (if installed on the computer) to play their native files.

<text>The most configurable, powerful, and light audio player out there. You can set it up to look really nice http://lifehacker.com/photogallery/media-player-show-and-tell/1000041080 or to be as functional as you want (auto-grab lyrics that scroll with the song, iPod support, cover art). By default it has buckets of features - it'll play about anything, masstagger, replaygain, file conversion, cd burning, autotagging, etc. The database it uses to track your music is light and fast, even with 10,000 audio files. It even supports higher quality audio than about anything else.

There is no better audio player for Windows.</text>

Foobar2000 is a freeware audio player for Windows developed by Peter Pawlowski, a former freelance contractor for Nullsoft.
Featuring a minimalist interface, it also boasts many features for metadata support and high-quality audio output. The theoretical maximum sampling rate and bit depth for audio output are both far in excess of the capacities of even professional-grade audio equipment. To maximize the audio fidelity of consumer-grade equipment, it provides noise shaping and dithering.

It features a number of official and third-party components which add many additional features. While the core is closed source, the author provides an extensive SDK under the BSD license. Since version 0.9, foobar2000 supports Windows 2000 and later releases only.

Features: audio formats supported natively: MP1, MP2, MP3, MP4, MPC, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC / Ogg FLAC, WavPack, WAV, AIFF, AU, SND, CDDA, WMA; more audio formats supported through optional components, official or third-party; full unicode support; customizable user interface layout (new in version 0.9.5); advanced tagging capabilities; support for ripping Audio CDs as well as transcoding all supported audio formats using the Converter component; ReplayGain support - both playback and calculation; customizable keyboard shortcuts; open component architecture allowing third-party developers to extend functionality of the player.

SlickRun is a free floating command line utility for Windows. SlickRun gives you almost instant access to any program or website. SlickRun allows you to create command aliases (known as MagicWords), so C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe becomes MAIL.

Enter a web URL into SlickRun and it will launch your browser and navigate to the specified address. Run multiple programs in a few keystrokes, jot a note, look up a definition... SlickRun is the most natural way to interact with your computer.
