<text>Software designed as a virtual dissection tool for human anatomy. Pros: it can help you identify any structure in the human body, along with associated structures and layers, etc. Cons: good luck figuring out how to use it and/or how to pay for it. Sometimes the good old fashioned atlas is a better bet than the pricey software....</text>

<description>Interactive Thorax and Abdomen- a stunning and detailed image library and reference tool for an in-depth view of the thorax and abdomen.

View clear, detailed and accurate 3D modeling of the key anatomy of the thorax and abdomen.. Choose from highly detailed and labeled views of the thorax, abdomen, internal organs (heart, lungs, intestines, diaphragm and liver), surface features and bone regions.

Interactive functions allow you to rotate any anatomical view 360 degrees or add and remove layers.

Clicking on a feature will bring up hot links to all relating text, dissection slides, clinical slides and illustrations and simple edit functions allow you to export and print any image from the software for use in your own presentations, patient education and student handouts.

The MRI section looks within the joint itself and compares MR slices in 3 planes (axial, sagittal and coronal) with the equivalent slice through the 3D model in up to 15 slices.

Anatomy covered includes:

Thorax
Abdomen
Internal organs, including lungs, heart, intestines, diaphragm and liver
Surface features
Bone regions
SLIDES

50 illustrations
69 clinical slides
28 dissection slides
25 slides of thorax MR in 3 planes
What&#8217;s new in the 2009 version?

There is a new interface on all our new re-released titles, which is more intuitive and user-friendly. The new interface also allows you to make the view much larger, which was not possible in previous versions.

The content is almost identical; the only differences are that the 2009 version has one extra slice in the MRI section and no longer contains the quiz sections.</description>

<text>Fantastic program for those of us who are easily distracted. Allows you to customize everything--from what programs open when you start &quot;concentrating&quot; to which websites are blocked when you do to what desktop image appears--all in service of helping the user get something done. I find it especially helpful for when I'm working on my online classes, as I can restrict what I see, then have my usual stuff (like various notifiers, social sites, etc) pop back up when I'm finished with my work. Easy to use, clean interface. 60 hours of free trial period.</text>

<text>I recently upgraded to the latest edition of Word for Mac. At first I was pleased to see that it had more of a &quot;Mac&quot; feel than the 2003 version I'd been using previously. However, it has now crashed more than once while I was in the midst of writing a document. There seems to be a glitch in the spell check feature that causes this; however I also experienced another error where Word tried to re-paginate my 5 page document into something with over 1000 pages (wtf?!) and then crashed. When I tried to use document recovery, it pulled up a version of my document that was older than the latest auto-save. Needless to say, I wish I didn't have to use it. GoogleDocs is much better--and *free*. For the price, Word shouldn't eat documents or crash, let alone do both at once.</text>

<text>i've been using dailyburn since it was gyminee. excellent program for tracking nutrition, exercise, &amp; general wellness. the features are constantly being improved upon &amp; now include the ability to enter nutrition information by meal. it's the only site i've found of its type that has most of the food i eat already entered in the database &amp; easy to find. the different exercise videos are helpful and you can create custom workouts. motivational tools are a big +, as well. i haven't tried it (i don't have an iphone), but the new scan app for iphone looks amazing. i do recommend upgrading to the pro version for anyone who wants to get the most from the site.</text>

<text>Concept is good, but if you have quite a number of people you follow, it's insane--for instance, I came home the other day to find it reporting that I had 10,000 tweets to read. Um, I don't think so.... It would be much, much better if it would allow you to use the program only to follow the tweets of certain users. If you have only a handful of people you follow, it would probably be the least obtrusive way to view their tweets in semi-realtime.</text>

<description>Program that contains PowerPoint lectures and images for the textbook. &quot;Concise, current, and richly illustrated, this one-of-a-kind text encompasses cellular and molecular biological concepts as well as classical morphology to present histology from a functional perspective. A wealth of superb illustrations, including light and electron micrographs as well as schematic diagrams and three-dimensional drawings, make all concepts easy to understand, and clinical correlations underscore the practical relevance of the material. Helpful tables and summary statements summarize vital information at a glance.&quot;</description>

<text>This is a rather amazing little web application. It only took 11 minutes for me to import all of my different social profiles &amp; doing so was rather miraculously easy. I'm not sure how I feel about having the personal sites and the professional sites combined, but it appears that you can tweak what you'd like to have seen so that privacy is protected. In a way, it does what friendfeed attempts to do, but without the redundancy. I also wonder if they've left any sites out--I had no idea there were so many out there! Even if one doesn't decide to make his/her profile public, I suspect just having one's own stuff all in one place will be exceptionally helpful. Impressive, overall.</text>

<text>Useful application for creating separate &quot;browsers&quot; for websites that you use like applications. Similar to using tabs, but more useful because, for example, you can program Quicksilver to open GMail when the computer starts. Then if your regular browser crashes, you still have your email box open. Highly recommended for sites used all the time/often kept running in the background and referred to frequently. (And it's very easy to use.) Only downside is that with some websites, the application will open links in a regular web browser, which can be annoying.</text>
