<text>A really cool twitter client that's lightweight, does its job well. I also like its skinning feature, desktop alerts, support for posting pictures etc. It supports all the twitter functionality in a nice-looking, compact GUI.</text>

<text>For Enterprise Java development, NetBeans is the final word! This IDE has anything and everything you can imagine for your daily Java needs. What I love about this IDE is its out-of-the-box features. A great Java editor, Ant/Maven support, integration with SVN/Kenai, developer collab, Java EE development, plugins for top Java web dev frameworks, support for all kinds of app servers, nice support for Groovy, JRuby, PHP, C++, excellent plugin support, RCP... you name it, NetBeans has it. And with NetBeans 6.7, the on-demand feature enablement makes it really fast to use. And the fact that it is Ant-based makes it highly customizable. IMHO, any serious Java developer should give it a spin. Definitely worth it...</text>

<text>An absolutely awesome scripting language for the JVM. Filled with all the goodness of dynamic languages (closures/MOP/categories etc). Works seamlessly with your Java code! This language is a must-know for any serious Java programmer. It makes working with the Java libraries almost painless. It's excellent for your daily scripting needs (slurp a file, read some stuff off a web service, test some code quickly, hack together a quick Swing GUI [yeah, that's right] and the list goes on and on). It's batteries included approach together with its syntactic sugar sweetness make it a perfect addition to your programming toolkit! Give it a shot; I highly recco it!</text>

    * builds upon the strengths of Java but has additional power features inspired by languages like Python, Ruby and Smalltalk
    * makes modern programming features available to Java developers with almost-zero learning curve
    * supports Domain-Specific Languages and other compact syntax so your code becomes easy to read and maintain
    * makes writing shell and build scripts easy with its powerful processing primitives, OO abilities and an Ant DSL
    * increases developer productivity by reducing scaffolding code when developing web, GUI, database or console applications
    * simplifies testing by supporting unit testing and mocking out-of-the-box
    * seamlessly integrates with all existing Java objects and libraries

<text>Eclipse has been the top Java IDE on my list for a long time. I especially love its Java editor and refactoring capabilities, which are quite powerful. I simply can't live w/o my Ctrl+T/Ctrl+O/Ctrl+Shft+F/Ctrl+Shft+O shortcuts. The plugin development environment is also quite powerful as its based on OSGi. A bit problematic when it comes to developing Java web applications. And performance is a problem (especially with large projects, also need to keep refreshing projects or they get out sync very quickly). But still, an awesome IDE overall!</text>

<description>Eclipse is an open-source, platform-independent software framework, written primarily in Java, for delivering what the project calls &quot;rich-client applications,&quot; as opposed to &quot;thin client&quot; browser-based applications. So far this framework has typically been used to develop Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), such as the Java IDE called Java Development Toolkit (JDT) and compiler (ECJ) that comes as part of Eclipse (and which are also used to develop Eclipse itself). However, it can be used for other types of client application as well.</description>

<description>TextPad&#174; is designed to provide the power and functionality to satisfy the most demanding text editing requirements. It can edit files up to the limits of virtual memory, and it will work with the 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows&#174; 2000, Server 2003, XP and Vista.

TextPad has been implemented according to the Windows XP user interface guidelines, so great attention has been paid to making it easy for both beginners and experienced users. In-context help is available for all commands, and in-context menus pop-up with the right mouse button. The Windows multiple document interface allows multiple files to be edited simultaneously, with up to 2 views on each file. Text can be dragged and dropped between files.

In addition to the usual cut and paste capabilities, you can correct the most common typing errors with commands to change case, and transpose words, characters and lines. Other commands let you indent blocks of text, split or join lines, and insert whole files. Any change can be undone or redone, right back to the first one made. Visible bookmarks can be put on lines, and edit commands can be applied to lines with bookmarks.

Frequently used combinations of commands can be saved as keystroke macros, and the spelling checker has dictionaries for 10 languages.

It also has a customizable tools menu, and integral file compare and search commands, with hypertext jumps from the matched text to the corresponding line in the source file (ideal for integrating compilers).</description>
