Last.fm is an Internet radio station and music recommendation system that merged with sister site Audioscrobbler in August 2005. The system builds a detailed profile of each user's musical taste, comprising the songs played on its stations selected via a collaborative filter, or optionally, recorded by a Last.fm plugin installed into its users' music playing application. The profile is visible on a customizable web page, enhanced by limited social networking features, and can recommend and play artists similar to the user's favorites.

LAME is a software application used to encode audio into the MP3 file format. The name LAME is a recursive acronym for LAME Ain't an MP3 Encoder, reflecting LAME's early history when it was not yet a complete encoder in itself.

As of 2004, consensus amongst the audiophile community is that LAME produces the highest-quality MP3 files for bitrates greater or equal to 128 kbit/s when using variable bitrate encoding; in a public listening test early in 2004, LAME MP3 files were the best 128 kbit/s MP3 files compared to the uncompressed original audio when using VBR mode.

Released under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), LAME is free software.

Autodesk 3ds Max, formerly 3D Studio MAX, is a modeling, animation and rendering package developed by Autodesk Media and Entertainment.

3ds Max is the third most widely-used off the shelf 3D animation program by content creation professionals according to the Roncarelli report. It has strong modeling capabilities, a flexible plugin architecture and a long heritage on the Microsoft Windows platform. It is mostly used by video game developers, TV commercial studios and architectural visualization studios. It is also used for movie effects and movie pre-visualization.

In addition to its modeling and animation tools, the latest version of 3ds Max also features advanced shaders (such as ambient occlusion and subsurface scattering), dynamic simulation, particle systems, radiosity, normal map creation and rendering, global illumination, an intuitive and fully-customizable user interface, and its own scripting language. There is also a plethora of specialized renderer plugins that can be bought separately, such as V-Ray, Brazil r/s , Maxwell Render, and finalRender.

<text>Great game overall, but Valve really messed up the servers. Not only can you not run your own online server from behind a NAT, but the achievements system does not always work correctly. There are also issues when trying to connect to a certain server while you are forced to use the horribly-implemented "lobby system". It is also annoying to see the "3-level connection bars" that look like a wireless signal strength meter, instead of being able to view the actual latency numbers. This game is for PC users, not console gamers. I hope Valve begins to cater more to their regular customers instead of trying to appeal to the non-PC gamers.</text>

Left 4 Dead is a multiplayer co-operative survival horror first-person shooter game by Valve Corporation. The game has been built using Valve's Source engine.

Left 4 Dead pits four human playable or AI controlled survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of aggressive "Infected" in a cinematic backdrop in which the players "star" as each character in a fictional movie (ie. No Mercy.) The Survivors' goal is to help each other make it through various scenarios to safety. The Infected are controlled by an AI that dynamically balances difficulty and mood depending on the players' progress and situation. In an alternate game mode, human players can control up to four mutated Boss Infected with special abilities and cooperate to stop the Survivor players.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to publish updates (known as tweets) and read other users' updates (also known as tweets).

Twitter now offers 'lists' which allow you to group your followers and/or non-followers into different lists (public or private), so perhaps subjects include family, friends, co-workers, etc.

This is especially useful if you are following thousands of people, and want to see just a certain amount of peoples' tweets without unfollowing thousands of people, or constantly checking various profiles for new updates.

Windows Live OneCare, previously known as Windows OneCare Live and formerly code-named A1, is a computer security service developed by Microsoft for some of its Windows operating systems. It has been announced for termination in favor of a completely free full security suite. It is incompatible with Windows 7 and support is being phased out for Vista. It was initially a subscription service, but could be bought at a store, and had a variegated and not very easy UI.

<text>An amazing lightweight torrent client that takes up practically no space and very little system resources. Highly recommended to anyone who needs to seed files but doesn't want to pay lots of money for bandwidth to host the file.</text>

µTorrent (also microTorrent or uTorrent) is a freeware proprietary BitTorrent client for Microsoft Windows & Mac OS X written in C++, and localized for many different languages. It can also be used under Linux based systems, via Wine. It's designed to use minimal computer resources - typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all. Additionally, the program itself is contained within a single executable less than 220 KB in size - while offering functionality comparable to clients such as Azureus or BitComet.
You can subscribe tracker's feeds and get new torrents via the feed and download them automatically.
