I love hostman as it provides a great way to block ad's without having to
install a bunch of browser addons as well as it works on all browsers at the
same time. Add on a simple local webserver like nginx and you can create your
own error pages so that you can tell exactly what it's blocking! They also offer
hostserv which is exactly a simple webserver that will display the ip of the
offending site that's been blocked.
All in all this is a great addition to anyone tired of both ad's and privacy
concerns!
I use boxee because its pulled away from XBMC with a better plugin
infrastructure and management, social aspect and generally better design.. would
be nicer if there were a choice of themes.
Could of gone for parallels, but VMware is what i use on the other two
platfoms, i did feel a bit down that i bought the version i have prior to the
latest version, but hey, this is the IT world we live in, and it does what it
says on the tin.
Wiki's they use a strange language to create them, but just the idea that
there is a location, where anyone in the world can contribute add a page, and
post up information, is just what the net is about. Unfortunately not always
100% accurate, but a good research starting point none the less.
If youtube is your thing, then imovie alone is the reason why you should cut
the crud, stop the excuses and buy a mac. There is nothing on the PC which can
touch it. Home movie editing, and with a bit of practice, and the right help
files, a video podcast, montage or HD movie could be yours. Its not a big boys
editing suite but there is more power under the hood for the owner of a home
camcorder or Flip type device than meets the eye with this app.
If you have a media file, and your OS's default media player won't play it, i
can bet VLC will. its a small footprint app with a HUGE amount of power. It will
play almost anything, on anything, with fantastic cross platform support.
What flickr offers in reality isn't something you can't find on Picasa or
many other hosting sites, if you look at it as a web app only, its strength lies
in the ability to put photos on it from just about every platform known to man
or beast. Mobile phone, OS, even TV's now. the API offers you the ability to get
your photos on there, and utilize the social media of your gallery.
If you are in need of a Webserver, SQL database or wish to test out web
applications, or host your own web server and can't be bothered to learn how to
do it, because you don't care how the back end works, this is your app. Mac,
Linux and Win versions, utilising Apache MySQL and PHP as well as other tools
such as Perl, Webalizer and much more.
Its a free VNC server whice works well on my Mac.. allows encrypted
connections and most of the same as the other apps in this catagory, but i feel
it takes less memory and resources.

更新至v0.8
As time passed I have seen more features lacking but got more used to it…
Nice softaware :D
Yeah, at last a good follow up on simcity 4. I hope it will develop more. It needs more refinement but it's a veru good start.
Used this to be part of a webinar. Was very impressed indeed. Worked perfectly.
Best Twitter application of it's kind that I have found. Great for finding new people to follow or clear people that are "deadbeats"
Tried thunderbird and on the mac, well mail is king, its well written, but watch your back if evolution ever gets ported.

This rocks.. 20ft interface, cross platform, easy to use, and plays everything, but boxee plays Twit Live, so i have to use this..
It links into my blackberry using various photo apps, Twitpic is better.

This sucks on windows, and to be brutally hones its not the best on the mac either, but it comes with the OS, so you are stuck with it. VLC is better,
Your getting your RAR files, they contain PAR files, you need this on the mac to fix that RAR so it decompresses.. a tool for the usenet crowd.

The best text editor out there. Great for writing code and a must-have tool for Ruby on Rails development.
