A wave is a new communication platform and technology, much like e-mail is today, but so much more. Developed by Google but open-sourced, you can see the preview of this technology in action on Google's wave server, conveniently named Google Wave. It's not a social network, not a web tool, not a proprietary software; but a whole new communication device evolved from e-mail, forums, chat, social sites etc.

As many iPhone and iPod touch owners have discovered, Apple's iTunes App Store has many flaws which render it useless to the common user. Apple has chosen to allow a multitude of ridiculous, worthless, poorly-represented applications through its "strict" screening process, nearly all written by mediocre programmers with a dream of getting rich quick. Many of these programmers game the reviews system, misrepresent their application in the description, and generally try to swindle the honest buyer. Applications generally do not cost much, but small fees add up. The iPhone/iPod community has wasted so much money on these programs, an epidemic has taken hold where people have simply stopped buying apps they aren't certain of so they don't find themselves purchasing yet another waste of a program.

Evony is a massively multiplayer online real time strategy game (MMORTS). It is highly popular because it is a persistent world. The landscape does not change each game or each time you log in, but rather you control your fledgling kingdom and direct its affairs. Your subjects will continue building, gathering, researching and laboring even while you are away. You may complete quests, attack barbarians or rival players, form alliances, achieve rank and title and expand your kingdom. Raise your Prestige and vanquish your foes. Your destiny is in your hands.

<text>Even though I've only just started using this app, I can see it'll become indispensable. Unfortunately due to the poor wi-fi access here in Australia, and because I only currently own an iPod, the ability to take all my notes anywhere and edit them anywhere is somewhat limited, once I have an iPhone though this issue will be solved, unless the developer changes this in the interim. Still I love being able to jot thoughts and notes on 3 platforms at home or on the run.</text>

Evernote is a software application that allows users to capture information of various types, including text notes, mobile phone snapshots, printed and handwritten text within images, web clips, and digital ink. All data added to Evernote are run through a series of recognizers that make any text within the various note formats searchable. <text>This application is a godsend allowing multiple blogs to be written to. It has features such as custom tags, as well making it a simple powerful tool. Write in plain text, or hmtl, it's your choice. Several useful plug-ins are available from places such as Amazon.com and flickr.com. I use it almost everyday, and can't fault it.</text>

Adobe InDesign CS4 software breaks down the barriers between online and offline publishing. Create compelling print layouts, immersive content for playback in the Adobe Flash Player runtime, and interactive PDF documents.
Build variants of manuals, student/teacher textbook editions, or multilanguage publications within a single Adobe InDesign file. Quickly create and apply conditions to specific text, and then hide and show the text as needed without relying on layers. Text and anchored objects reflow automatically.
InDesign was the first page layout application to introduce editable drop shadows, feathering, and transparent effects; the first to import styled Microsoft Word and Excel tables; and the first to fully support OpenType fonts and automate hanging punctuation, kerning, and paragraph-level composition for truly professional typography. Built-in effects, including inner glow or bevel and emboss, and finer transparency controls allow you to create more nuanced page design directly in your layout application.
Producing pages with speed and precision is what it's all about. That's why InDesign CS4 is focused on improving productivity — both by fine-tuning older features to be more efficient and by introducing new ones. Quickly and efficiently produce unique documents for different audiences or sophisticated layouts with complex elements, illustrations, and photos using new long-document features such as cross-references and conditional text. And get the most out of InDesign on Intel based Mac OS and Microsoft Windows Vista systems. (Work smoothly on legacy PowerPC® based Macs and Windows XP systems as well.) With InDesign CS4, you can work faster — and better — than ever
