Have used some form of explorer.exe since 1995. My most used offline application. Use it more than the start menu. Explorer.exe crashes don't take the whole system down like it used to. Needs tabs. Wish there was some Firefox equivalent.

Slow and sluggish it may be. It forced me to organize and tag my music collection. And of course synchronization of my iPods. There's an unofficial "lite" version w/o Quicktime and other crap. So much better.

The media player of choice on Windows. Lightweight, does exactly what I need & never lets me down. Would be useless without FFDShow and other essential codecs.

A 283 kilobyte program has given me terabytes of file transfers. In the early days of torrenting, I've used the default BT client and others. Then I started to use µTorrent and never looked back.

Learn something new on every visit. I always get into tangents getting into articles totally not related to what I was searching in the first place. Somehow I went from "railroad gauge" to "Charles Xavier."
