<description>Microsoft Office OneNote, usually referred to as Microsoft OneNote, is a tool for notetaking, information gathering, and multi-user collaboration by Microsoft. While many earlier systems relied on linear text flow (simple lists), OneNote visualizes notes as a two-dimensional page. OneNote also adds modern features such as drawings, pictures, multimedia audio, video, and ink as well as multi-user sharing of notes. </description>

<text>I found this through a Google search a while ago when ubiquitous spell checkers didn't exist. Loaded it to the start background and have been happy ever since. It sits there and lets me know when I have forgotten a letter here and there, makes suggestions and retains short phrases. Combined with texter.exe, both free, it has increased my speed and lowered the level of apparent illiteracy.

It is used universally with all web applications as well as word processors on and off line. The best feature in comparison with spell checkers included with programs is the personal dictionary which carries over.

The two negative features which prevents the Interface stars from reaching five is its glitch with older versions of MS Word, which I never use anyway, and it's somewhat aggressive default pop up suggestion lists. That can be adjusted in the set up.</text>

<text>How spoiled we are not to see Evernote as a thing of wonder.

The fact that it can index text from graphics is a marvel. It has made my life searching for items copied from historic documents much easier. OneNote is clunky compared to this. I forked over the price for the added storage area without coming close to the monthly limit. As for the Blackberry: going to the Evernote site with the Opera Mini browser has made Evernote easily available for reading, I too would like a similar interface as the one they provide for the MS Mobile and iPhone.</text>

<description>Evernote is a software application that allows users to capture information of various types, including text notes, mobile phone snapshots, printed and handwritten text within images, web clips, and digital ink. All data added to Evernote are run through a series of recognizers that make any text within the various note formats searchable. The application uses a continuous &quot;roll of paper&quot; metaphor for its user interface. Additionally, users may create folders, categories, and notebooks.</description>

<text>I have been using Opera since back in the day when it was either add supported or paid. I was glad to pay for what I thought back then was an excellent browser. Now it is much more than that. The phrase I hear a lot of late is Web Experience. That is what it is.

Though you can add features and widgets, right out of the box Opera just about does everything you could want while connected. The feed reader, downloader, email, history, tags, bookmarks, video viewing, pdf reader, on and on.

I am writing this with Opera 10 alpha with no problems.

Caveat: Though the remarks promise there to be an HTML email writer, the choice interface is there, but I have not been able to get good results with copy and paste of graphics yet. Again, this is still alpha. Vs. 9.63 is very stable in all ways.

I see Firefox as a toy, like an Erectorset, it's fun to add things to it to see how they work, but after a while, like most toys, it gets tiresome. Grown ups just like things to work. Opera works right out of the box.</text>

<text>I wish Opera's email feature was able to output HTML email. For its convenience wrapped with the installed RSS Feed reader, it would make my life easier. Until then, I will stay with Thunderbird. There is very little related to basic email this software can't handle.

I was turned off to its sister browser, Firefox's need for add-ons for optimum usage but Thunderbird works fine right out of the box. IMAP is seamless with Gmail and other online mail sites but smtp does require port tweaking to work.</text>

<text>JC&amp;MB's nice little note taker is the small engine that keeps a 8 pixle red tag on the side of my screen. It has a password protected and open interface for keeping simple notes. I use Evernote for the big jobs, but this ever present ASCII style interface has totally replaced my using MS Notebook for the simple stuff. I did try Notebook++ for the same tasks, but it was too much. This is the just right oatmeal of desktop notes.</text>

<description>Vox is an Internet blogging service run by Six Apart, which launched on October 26, 2006. Originally, it had the codename 'Project Comet'.

The service claims to be more streamlined and easier-to-use than other blogging tools available, like LiveJournal, Blogger, or WordPress.com. Its design has features often associated with the Web 2.0 trend; much of the praise and criticism applied to Web 2.0 also applies to Vox. Vox is written in the Catalyst MVC Framework.

The service is more focused on social networking features than other blogging platforms. Such features include the ability to set permissions on who is able to view each post and a friends list on the sidebar. While other social networking sites offer blog functionality as an additional feature, blogging is the main focus of Vox.</description>
