<text>While WoW is one of the most popular and successful MMORPGs ever developed, it still suffers from all of the common problems of the genera. It's full of grind, puerile players, and a relatively static game world. While the environments may be interesting and expansive, the quests are all too often repetitive clones of one that came before -- and after some play, the environments and monsters become repetitive, different-colored clones of one another. Also, the recurring monthly charges regardless of actual playtime by users is disadvantageous to casual gamers such as myself, as is the amount of time one must invest to actually be able to level a character and its gear to the point where the often much better developed end-game content may even be entered, let alone enjoyed. The only thing that kept me playing as long as I did was the fact that WoW had consumed the free time -- and in at least one case, the entire life -- of my friends; it was a choice between never interacting with them or subjecting myself to doing so within the confines of Azeroth and Outland. However, I must say that when I chose to view it as a complex, real-time econometric simulation, I did find manipulating and occasionally crashing the markets for various virtual goods was quite stimulating, but then I discovered Eve Online, a game built almost explicitly around market dynamics. In the end, I can say that while a relatively well-developed game, it's not one I could recommend.</text>

<text>This is one of the best puzzle games I have played in quite a while. It's solutions are often intuitive and mind-boggling at the same time. It's story is compelling and engrossing, leaving me feeling fulfilled and deeply saddened at the end.</text>

Google search is the most used search engine on the web. Google receives several hundred million queries each day through its various services. Besides the main search engine feature of searching for text, the search engine can also be used as a calculator, base, unit and currency converter, dictionary and many other useful tools. Google search was originally developed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1997.

Google's search algorithm uses a patented system called PageRank to help rank web pages that match a given search string. The PageRank algorithm computes a recursive score for web pages, based on the weighted sum of the PageRanks of the pages linking to them. The PageRank derives from human-generated links, and is thought to correlate well with human concepts of importance. The exact percentage of the total of web pages that Google indexes is not known, as it is very hard to actually calculate.

<text>Spore is a wonderful game. It's incredibly well-done. However, the DRM it's wrapped in is horribly broken. I haven't given in to buying this myself yet because of the DRM, but if/when I do, I'll put the nice shrink-wrapped game on the shelf and download a cracked copy of software I've legally purchased. I have been excited about this game since I first heard it announced years ago, but I refuse to purchase software wrapped in DRM so broken that it precludes my Right of First Sale and must phone home regularly.</text>

Spore is a multi-genre "massively single-player online game" by Maxis and designed by Will Wright. It allows a player to control the evolution of a species from its beginnings as a unicellular organism, through development as an intelligent and social creature, to interstellar exploration as a spacefaring culture. It has drawn wide attention for its massive scope, and its use of open-ended gameplay and procedural generation.

In Audiosurf, you race down a futuristic and colorful highway. The highway, the traffic patterns, and the scenery are all synchronized to the music you have chosen from your own collection. You earn points for clustering together cars of the same color on the highway, and can compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.
This application was the first to use the Steamworks distribution platform created by Steam, and has won many awards for it's amazing and innovative gameplay.

<text>Thus far, I only know how well Mozy works when it's just hangin' out, doing its thing in the background, but for the last few versions, that's been much improved. My only complaints were some memory and processor hogging issues in the Mac client, but those seem to be completely gone. Also, on my new Mac Pro, where Spotlight works at a reasonable speed, backups seem to process in much less time than on my older, PowerBook G4.</text>

MacTheRipper is a DVD ripper (extractor) for Mac OS X. It can extract commercial DVD movies to your hard drive, without all the copy protection, and region controls put in place by DVD publishers. You can then use various tools to burn the movie back to DVD-R for use in DVD players, or convert the movie to different formats for playback with a variety of devices.

Free registration at the RipDifferent forums is required for the latest versions of MTR.
