It's free to visit, but to own property, you have to pay a monthly fee. There is an educational edition known as AWEDU.
For the people who dont know this (because i see very little people using it on here).
Its like second life, probly has almost the same ammount of people online too.
If your pc cant handle SL then this is absolutly something nice to try out!
