Dreamweaver is the best web design tool hands down. There is no such thing as
a professional developer that uses WYSIWYG, so i'll skip that aspect of the
program entirely (I cant rate it because i've never taken it seriously). As far
as a web development IDE, Dreamweaver has no competition, for one simple reason:
the built in FTP support. I've tried numerous other development environments,
and while there are many great programs out there, none offer top notch ftp
support like dreamweaver. Any serious web developer requires great ftp support,
for working with numerous sites across multiple servers. How else is one
supposed to get any work done efficiently manually managing files across these
servers? This is, to me, the sole reason for Dreamweaver's dominance of
professional web development.
I've been using Dreamweaver for years now, and i can't think of a better
webdesign studio. I also tried Golive, but nothing compares to Dreamweaver in
quality. 5/5
Dreamweaver has some "odd" behaviours, but it's still one of the
most flexible and well-written web editors out. I still prefer DW8 though, never
enjoyed moving to 9 or CS3 because UI-wise, the design seems to have gone
backward a little bit!
If it ain't broke, etc. Still, use it monthly (if not weekly), can't fault
it.
Dreamweaver is yet another quality program by Adobe. Originally created and
developed by Macromedia, Dreamweaver provides extensive WYSIWYG and code-view
support.
Despite its achievements, Dreamweaver has become overly complex, utilizing a
UI that has become too cluttered and obscure. If you are a Mac user looking for
a lightweight, yet extremely powerful code-centric editor, Textmate is highly
recommended. The free, cross platform Eclipse IDE also suffices for many needs.
Must have to any webdesigner.
I agree with na641
I also never found a program that has a FTP support like dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver is top! Werkt goed samen met de andere adobe-producten.
Have to agree with musicfreak.

I use it daily basis. It is a excellent tool to create web pages.
i really like it! cool thing!
Too bloated, when compared to elegant, fast solutions like Coda and CSS Edit.
First WYSIWYG editor I learned how to use. Love it sooo much. Will never go back.
Awesome.

Not to be trusted for WYSIWYG, but unsurpassed for complete site management (links changing, etc)

Dreamweaver CS3 is good, but there's not a huge difference between it and Dreamweaver 8 to warrant the upgrade for most folks.
