It's good for making website icons, but that's it. Otherwise, it sucks.
I hate it!, Because Adobe did that!. What did Macromedia Fireworks to deserve this? Adobe Fireworks CS# looks like a downgrade for me.
More lightweight then PhotoShop, does the job as well!
This was my go to application for years of designing websites. Each version got better feature-wise but the performance has always left something to be desired.

Dreamweaver y Fireworks son una herramienta fabulosa para el diseño web en general bajo entorno Windows, por su parte, Fireworks también es una excelente herramienta individual para la manipulación de gráficos a nivel intermedio, montajes, logotipos, tiras cómicas... Fireworks las hace posibles.

Fireworks is an excellent graphics app. Great for design of graphics with layering support. Also great for designing websites.
