Adobe Fireworks, also known as FW for short, is a bitmap and vector graphics editor. It was originally developed by Macromedia, which Adobe acquired in 2005, and aimed at web designers (with features such as: slices, the ability to add hotspots etc.). It is designed to integrate easily with other former Macromedia products, such as the popular Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash. Version 8 of Fireworks was bundled in the Macromedia Studio 8 suite. The next version, Fireworks CS3, is now available either as a part of CS3 or as a stand alone product.

the most simply and best Grafic Editor for Webdesign
an obvious choice for rapid ui prototyping. die visio die.
Watch out for CS4 version, with a new unified interface, and loads of new features!
I always liked to work with Fireworks. Optimize your time with Flash and Dreamweaver integration! I like to do some small jobs like resizing pictures, probably because I'm used to it for years.
Good for web!
super programma voor het ontwerpen van websites!
good stuff. this was my first design tool. and i rocks
does everything!!
Fixed those faulty colors in photoshop. A must have for Web designer.
Perfect mix between Photoshop and Illustrator. Great progam!
Fireworks is hands down the best application out there for screen design. If you want photo editing, go with Photoshop. But if you're looking for a design tool for web or application screen work, then Fireworks CS3 is a must.
Photoshop is king for photo editing, no doubt, but I find Fireworks to be a superior tool for website design. Much better vector and object support.
Easy-to-use, yet powerful vector & raster graphics software. Recommended for creating web interfaces, basic photo-editing tasks, and even vector works (logos, illustrations, etc.).
