I used to use Paint Shop Pro but Corel makes everything the program die, so I
bought a copy of Photoshop Elements 7. It is a very good editor nonetheless the
performance is only so-so (it utilizes one and a half of core, it means that
your quad core processors will not use its full potential). There are some other
nuts and bolts (sharpening, purple fringing reducing is weak). But in fact the
package has no competitors in this price range. Photoshop (not Elements!) is
ridiculously expensive in Europe and I will not buy it because of the price tag.
PE is a good package and reasonably priced.
Very good image editor. Fairly complete and easy to use.
In my opinion, its best feature is the photo organizer.
Easier than real Photoshop, it is much more complete (sometimes
complicated) than other editors around and so it requires a bit too much Ram and
CPU.
I'm still at Elements 3.0. It's a good piece of software but newer versions
don't seem to have added much other than bloat. In fact, Adobe removed some
features that I was using, such as the simple image editor in the Elements
Organizer.
high on cpu will be switching to photoshop 6 ver
