A real workhorse for me. Indispensable. V2 adds features which have enabled
me to bypass Photoshop completely for certain projects, and deliver to clients
images that have been processed only with Lightroom, saving steps and precious
time.
This is the best photo organization / editing software I've ever used. The
interface is clean and well-organized, and everything is just in the right
place. It's very different from other Adobe applications UI-wise, and I like it
this way. It effectively eliminates the need for an external image editor
(Photoshop / Gimp) unless you want to do really heavy editing.
This is a must program for a combined program to handle RAW, image
categorizing and powerful creative editing (but not at the pixel level). I use
LR for 95% of all my photo work. Awesome/.
wow... Lightroom blows my mind daily. It effectively removes the need to
have Photoshop, Bridge, Aperture, Camera RAW ... as long as you stick with
photographs.
You can feel that it has been developed for and tested by real
professional photographers.
Pros:
- Simple
- Fast
- Neat and convenient
- Very well organized
- great tagging, filtering, group, projects, labeling system
Cons:
- None so far for me, except that the photos i download from my Canon 350D
tend to get a yellow tone over it, and i guess that's because of the RAW profile
in Adobe LR.
@ixplorer - It is safe to upgrade. The internals are different so Lightroom
will make a new version of your catalog. LR2 has some good features so I would
definitely recommend upgrading.
@stormyblueyz
try 64bit version, i dont even know did you or not.
The must have software if you're into Photography.
Performance is slow at times - way too expensive. Overall, great software, though.

Great for photographers - use it after I've been shooting in RAW mainly.

If you do a lot of photography then Lightroom is one of the best applications out there.
You should profile your monitor if you have not done so already.

This app became quickly my favorite. It's easy to improve your photos in a smooth workflow. Better than Aperture!
