Adobe Acrobat is a family of application software by Adobe Systems. These applications use Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) as their native file format. Some software in the family is commercial, and some free of charge. Adobe Reader (formerly called Acrobat Reader) is available as a no-charge download from Adobe's web site, and allows the viewing and printing of PDF files. Acrobat and Reader are major components of the Adobe Engagement Platform, and are widely used as a way to present information with a fixed layout similar to a paper publication.

Bloat Alert!
Great tool, but after seeing the comments below, i'm gonna try out foxit reader.
ultimate pdf viewer
What is very sad is that "Foxit Reader" does best what this company's program made Adobe Reader to do.
PDF files take so long to open using Adobe Reader that you simply don't want to use it anymore. I now use Foxit Reader, it opens them as if they had been opened all along and I just needed to maximise the window.
The bloat this program has makes my computer sink. I uninstalled this and replaced it with a lighter app as soon as I could and your computer will be better if you do the same. SumatraPDF is a good replacement.
Important for every pc!
memory hogger with embed explorer shell hook that is hard to disabled. check out this latest buffer overflow exploit (full disclosure)

This software is worth every penny you will pay for it -- good thing it's free! It is too large, too bloated, too slow. FoxIt is a much better option for viewing PDFs.
This is for old men. Use Foxit Reader and forget heavy loads.
I agree - is huge and slow but I need it for work. Foxit rocks! (@Jove)
Unfortunately, it seems to be a necessity. It becomes more and more bloated with each release. Not a fan.
I'd rather using Foxit Reader. Adobe Reader is slow, huge installation, with a lot of plug-ins I never use
The only good option, for viewing "protected" documents...
