Alice is a 3D programming environment for learning to program in. It uses 3D graphics and a drag-and-drop interface to facilitate a more engaging, less frustrating first programming experience. It can be used to create an animated story, an interactive game to play, or a video to share on the web.

Alice 2.0 and higher are written in Java and produce Java code. Storytelling Alice is a variant of Alice 2.0 written specifically for middle school students by Caitlin Kelleher (it shares some of the Alice 2.0 code base and will be tracked with it). Slow and Steady Alice is a variant with software rendering only. Alice 3.0 is in development.

The late Randy Pausch was amongst the researchers behind Alice.
