ads... :(
Try Pidgin!
The New versions great!
Trillian. When I have to use this crappy protocol, I use Trillian. Otherwise I stay as far away from it as possible.
Has ads, security flaws and is ugly... but it gets the job done for those of us who don't really care. For those that do, something like Trillian or Pidgin would probably be preferable.
There was a time when they blocked 3rd party clients from connecting.
Jabber = ;)
No one puts personal information in their profiles anymore... Goodness, melodrama?
Horrible security flaws.
Development has stopped for Mac, and Linux:
BECAUSE THEY DON"T CARE
Being someones "buddy" does not require their approval allowing them to keep tabs on your profile.
"Profiles" are actually just a stupid way to expose personal and stupid info to everyone because they are not private in any way.
NO COMMENT ,THANKS
just crap
My favorite chatting client. I have used AIM ir AOL IM for years and chatted on it for probably years, all time added up consecutively. Love AIM. The vercon for MAC sucks though. It is slow and sluggish. For Windows XP and on Vista, its perfect though. We need a new version of AIM for Macs~!!!!!
I use Deadaim with aim, and i have to say its better and more lightweight than gaim, trillian, and pidgin.
What can I say, its not the best instant messenger client around, but it's the most popular.
AOL Blows, Switch to MSN messenger. If you MUST use the AOL messenger medium, Then use a third party client to connect such as Trillian or GAim
