A mysterious new application
Default file name for executables built with GCC. On Windows (via Cygwin or MinGW) the file name is a.exe instead.

Is it because of mingw?
When you compile a program with GCC and you don't assing an output name, "a.exe" is created :D See also "a.out", ROFLOLPIMPMAO :D
