Jira is the best issue tracker I've tried. I've used also Trac that is free open source but with the high personalization level and price polytics on Jira (with free download for non profitable users) this is the ideal option.
JIRA saves me many hours on the phone with customers. Great app.
"Atlassian" isn't an application. It's a company that produces applications, like Confluence, Jira, Bamboo, Fisheye, etc.
I really dig Jira and Confluence. Great apps. Support is fast and reliable.
Jira works for our IT department very well - they are still shit but at least there is a job trace and reporting!
JIRA is a great product for large organizations... too pricey for start ups and home use... but a good interface!
