Been a long time listener to Audible books, and think it's great but still has no downloader that works with my Ubuntu Linux machine. Latest two books: The Physics of the Impossible, and Linked.
I don't think it should be required to get audio books into iTunes
Sorry, but you will not be having your cake and eating it too.
In this instance I will not complain about the DRM since Audible is making such a massive effort to get audio of so many books that would never have it otherwise. People are often very narrow minded in this regard.
A download manager for Audible.com ... Really shouldn't be needed.
Trying to download too many books at one time often results in one of the downloads failing. I was frustrated that I couldn't get the download link to work on the Audible web site until I stopped using Opera and tried it in Internet Explorer. If you switch computers a lot the DRM will force you to email or call technical support to get your licenses reset.
I'd rather not have to suffer the DRM-type nonsense, but I do enjoy Audible too.
I HATE that you can't tell it not to start up. But I love Audible. So it's just part of enjoying good audiobooks.
