Adobe Audition

Good for visual people like me who need to see their tracks in convenient blocks. I use it to assemble my podcast each week.

Great audio editor with many features to implement into your audio, great for recording multiple tracks/outputs at the same time.

This is by doubt the best audio editor ever. Very effective in what I do, I'm able to record, reorganize and add effects in the multitrack view without effort. The effects here are all professional grade, I've used them myself and they really make things sound the way you want to and it also supports a variety of formats, it can even export your audio into a BMP file if you're really interested. The only thing stopping you is the price, but aside from that. Best. Audio Editor. Ever.

Really fun to play with and it's easy to get the hang of. But jesus, the price tag!

Really Good one

I love this! I used Au 1.5 in my XP, but sadly, my installer doesn't work in Vista. Still, during the years I used Audition, it's been great, and it was like my bestfriend during that semester in college when I was an audio engineer for the campus radio station. Audition and I go a long way. :P
