    I really like AutoCAD Light. I use 2004 version and find it totally stable with all of the necessary flat drafting features.
    The only quibble I have is that when using files that may have 3-D data, it's impossible to "flatten" them so the lines are on the same plane. Nevertheless, if you just need flat drafting, then it's the best.

    It's the best CAD software you can get, but in terms of stability and performance it can't be much worse. It crashes few times a day, especially when you work on a big and complex drawings with multiple xrefs.
    I would like to see how it would looks like and act in a Mac OS X environment.
