The 358th most popular system tool on Windows
Avafind is a tool that indexes your files based on filename and allows you to search the index. Mind you it indexes only the filenames and not the content like Google Desktop. Its incredibly efficient and slightly taxing to the memory.Playlist population , opening the folder having the file or copying the path of the file....everything is a breeze. This is the kind of tool that makes you feel "how can so many people live without it". Well worth paying $20 for the pro version. Highly addictive and highly recommended.… More Edit

Best search tool on windows, great indexing and searching.
This one is wa-a-ay better than its supposed rivals' solutions. It indexes whole drive in seconds and gives correct results on-the-fly right after it. Though it could have some simple shortcut-summoned one-string search box like Google Desktop Search has.
Best search tool (or indexer if you prefer) ever produced. I tried all the possible alternatives I could get, but no success. AvaFind is still one.
Too bad its not developed anymore.
Totally agree. Been on the lookout for an alternative that *is* still being developed and at least as good as AvaFind, but I haven't been able to find one. Made the jump from the freeware to the pro version last week actually, after using it since 2002.
Well, I haven't seen any competitive alternative for this software. It's a shame it doesn't have an update since 2002
