Light and simple interface. Yet better than textedit.
Give me all I need for Word processor
say good bye to MS on Mac.
Nice and light!
Bean is a nice, simple piece of software that uncomplicates word processing. Its feature list may not be particularly robust, but I rarely find myself needing much more than simple rich-text editing. Moreover, it is difficult to argue with its price tag.
Its a great word processor and its free making it amazing.
Doesnt struggle with pasting large amounts of text which is always good
Bean is my default word processor. Love it. I only wish it had AppleScript support.
Nice processor. Faster and more functional than TextEdit, simply than NeoOffice. But I don't like its interface, it looks strange, and it doesn't work good with russian text.
From Activity Monitor (on my Macbook):
Bean: Real Memory used is 11.55 MB.
Microsoft Word: Real Memory used is 129.02 MB.
What sets this apart from TextEdit is the live word count (without having to run another application like NanoCount alongside the word processor) and full screen mode. This is definitely one of my favorite open source projects.
This is a fantastic word processor. It launches as fast as TextEdit. I couldn't ask for more.
Nice light application, but needs to take more care in exporting to .doc format. I tired to open a file on (Windows Word) in Arabic and the words were a total miss, with nothing in it's place, While viewing it was okay on Mac.
If that been fixed it will be absolutely the best "Word" replacement on Mac till this day.
An extremely lightwieght word processor that has pretty much the essentials and nothing else. It's like the offline version of Google Docs. Great for students.
bean rocks.
