Arguably, based on the mechanics of LCD screens, a completely white screen
would actually be better for it (as it doesn't involve providing voltage to the
LCD crystals to "dim" each pixel). But that would be kinda weird.

If I'm away from the computer, why would I want my monitor to perform a show?
I don't want to have to beat hypnotized spectators just to get to my seat when I
return. Very effective.
As far as simplicity goes, it doesn't get any better than this. The
screensaver is just a black screen, but it prevents screen burn and has always
worked for me.
Though this is the one I prefer, I stopped using screen savers altogether and just use Windows' power settings to put the display to sleep.
Its dark and works well, but ever since I found fliqlo I've left the Blank Screen Saver in the basement.
Fliqlo is dark and it shows a super cool clock too. So it doesn't stop me from sleeping by lighting up the room

Well it does its job description, a blank screen saver. If the screen output was actually off and not just blank, better!

Simple and clean. Blanks the screen until you return from someplace. It's nice to have something like this, in my opinion.
No extraneous eye candy here. Its just a simple black screen. Fantastic.
