It's pretty good, once you manage to configure it according to your needs. Obviously, a QoS-enabled modem helps a lot too.
...but definitly easier to manage and apply the settings, especially for not so tech-savy users ;)
The only program on my system that I've honestly bought, and it's been worth every € I gave for it. It's rather unobtrusive, simply sits in the tray and displays up/down speeds and ping times. Skinnable, on XP can set besides protocols also program's priority (through the GUI, if I understand correctly then through the console and/or configuration files program defining works also under older OSs), provides basic firewall functionality.
As for the main purpose of the program - bandwidth shaping - that seems to work nicely. Surfing ain't notably slower even if I'm downloading and uploading at full speed in the background, the program throttles the speeds if ping value gets too high. While I also limit the speeds in the programs that I use it's mainly to save the resources of my secondary machine, which is slow and much-occupied :P
All in all quite recommended. The only things I can complain about are minor things, like that newer betas seem to be incompatible with Win2000 or that on my XP machine the speed/ping window is closed by default.
Can't be better than manual tweaks.
