This program lets you make 4th Edition Characters, complete with character sheets you can then print, for 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons. If you do not have a DDI (Dungeon and Dragons Insider) account, you can download a trial that lets you make characters up to level 3. If you do have a DDI account, you can make characters up to level 30 using any of the rules currently available, including Dungeon or Dragon magazine articles, all built into the software. Wizards also updates the software every month with all the new rules options they just released. The software is clean, easy to use, very in depth, and actually fun. Check it out if you like 4E.

Edit
Definitely worth paying one month's subscription for: Doing so gives you access to descriptions of all the powers, items and rituals from all the published sources - and you can build up to level 30 of course. Unfortunately you can't copy the text into another application: If you're making a custom character sheet in OpenOffice or whatever, you'll have to write everything out manually - or be stuck with the CharacterBuilder's character sheet. It can also be sluggish when loading up, and on the item screen, but then it does have a large database to contend with.
needs an update for some classes but VERYYYYY usfull.
If you like 4E D&D, this is a must have.
If you play, then this will make all your book keeping easier.
If you run, this will make your life a breeze when it comes to NPCs and world building.
And the interface is slick and easy to use. With its constant updates, what more could any 4Er want?
Great character builder for D&D games. It's still on Beta, but i use it all the time.
