The 120th most popular simulation game on Windows

Chris Sawyer's Locomotion is a computer game by independent game developer Chris Sawyer. In his words, it is "the spiritual successor to Transport Tycoon".

The game allows the player to use railroads, trams, trucking lines, buses, airplanes and ships to earn money in a transport company between the years 1900 to 2100. It contains over 40 pre-designed scenarios and a scenario editor, and can also be played in multiplayer mode with another human-controlled competitor. The game is played in an 2D isometric view like the other games by Chris Sawyer, particularly RollerCoaster Tycoon, which uses the engine that was originally developed for Transport Tycoon.

I just loved Transport Tycoon. Unfortunately it is too old to run on today's computers so Locomotion is the second best tycoon videogame I ever played. Immediate, simple, you don't get bored and it is very beautiful. I love those minimalistic graphics.

I hope someday maybe they'll do a remake.

Very nice and addicting game. Way more features than RCT with even a landscape editor and level creator (and it's better than the lvl editor in RCT 2 while it has the same basics)

Loads off plugg ins available for real (nowadays) trains (o.a. French, Dutch, German and Miniature trains)

    Overall:

Under rated game compared to Roller Coaster Tycoon, though perhaps people find general transportation less fun than coasters. I think the graphics and sound track being dated held it back.
